I engaged this law firm to help me petition for marriage-based U.S. permanent residence. From analysis to filing, to accompanying me for an in-person interview, I found this firm to be professional, supportive and patient. They always responded to emails and, when necessary, to emergency-basis phone calls. I am completely satisfied with the service I received.
Consulted Seddiq Law for explanation and guidance with a 3-year probation follow-up; the result of a very troubling criminal case against my learning-challenged adult child. Our original attorney did not keep us informed of case progress, did not appear to believe in the naiveté of my child, and set a very frustrating pattern of postpone, and postpone again, as a strategy for everything to just go away and get lost in the system; many times neglecting to show up at scheduled court proceedings! Had previously not had so much as a speeding ticket, and find the criminal court system is a life-challenging, emotionally debilitating road to navigate. Attorneys Seddiq and Eisele were quick to pick up the pieces and develop an understandable plan to move toward getting the case removed at the conclusion of the probation period. Mirriam was very supportive throughout the entire process. Nevertheless, I remained extremely anxious, but the level of anxiety was reduced by Ms. Seddiq’s clear explanation of the process, and timely response to any questions. Documents were filed immediately upon completion of a very restrictive probation period and, what I anticipated would be a lengthy process, resulted in the best of the best possible outcome … case removed!! Would I hire Ms. Seddiq again? Without hesitation … although I hope that we will never have to travel this path again. She is a strong-willed, fight for what is right, individual and I am very appreciative of the time she spent with us navigating this life challenge.
My wife and I hired Mirriam Seddiq and her co-council back in April of 2017. We actually had never heard of them before. We hired a lawyer out of Annapolis as our primary council who specialized in difficult cases where one is falsely accused of abuse. This lawyer always brings in additional counsel due to the issues and complexities of these types of cases. There are times when things just happen too fast for one person to deal with it all at a high level. He had worked with Mirriam's team before and clearly had a preference to bring them in again. We agreed on his recommendation. We are glad we did. We were 3 continuances and 18 months into the ordeal when they came on board. We made the change because it seemed like our previous team was always reacting to the prosecutors and lacked a killer instinct. It also seemed as though they were always on a learning curve at my expense. We needed an upgrade. We are now coming up on our 7th trial date, its been over 3 years and we are so glad to have this new team. I can assure you, with me alone, they are battle tested. This review is about Mirriam so I am going to set the focus on her. She is sharp, tenacious and has a healthy disdain for what I call Post Constitutional America. I have learned of the corruption, deceitfulness and dirty tricks played by the State over the last three years of this case. I have seen compliant and indifferent judges let the State get away with their shenanigans time and again. Mirriam knows of these games all too well. My prosecutors are particularly nasty and unprofessional. None of their tricks have surprised her. She knows her enemy. This woman also knows how to fight smart. She always has an eye towards preserving the record for appeal. I was clueless about this before since my previous team never brought it up. As a defendant the thought of appeal sickens me (it means you were convicted). But after a close call with a corrupt judge (I've had three, thankfully we had him removed, ask her how) I understand how reassuring it would be to have a long list of good options if an appeal becomes necessary. She always has the long game in mind. For my particular case she has produced a fantastic motion to suppress a search warrant, a couple Brady motions, motions to compel evidence, a motion to continue (it was crazy how contentious that judge became, but we forced her hand), at least one motion for appropriate relief, an omnibus motion and God only knows what else. At every step the work is professional, well sited and could stand up to appellate review. We've not won every battle, but we are winning the war. With every continuance we've gained ground and made my case stronger. It isn't over yet and I plan on having her with me till the end. I have spent dozens of hours with her over this stretch of time and I truly enjoy having her with me in the fight of my life. I would strongly recommend Mirriam Seddiq to anybody fighting for their life against this corrupt system.
My contact with Ms Seddiq was extremely positive. She was professional, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
My husband had a charge that was seven years old, in which had him in jeopardy of being deported,he was held under mandatory detention due to this charge in 2012. Ms. Seddiq was able to guide my husband in the right direction, and was able to get the Coram Nobis granted, and the charge was removed. My husband was released from the detention center the day after the Coram Nobis was granted. She is very knowledgeable in what she does, and I highly recommend Ms. Seddiq for immigration criminal cases. She is small in stature but packs a powerful punch.
Upon getting engaged to a British man, we found ourselves needing a seasoned immigration attorney. Mirriam was recommended by a friend, and I'm so thankful. She was very knowledgeable and helped navigate us through the complicated process. She never kept us wondering - we always knew the status of the process thanks to her excellent communication. Mirriam is VERY reliable and easy to get in touch with. She made an extremely stressful time much easier to bear. She never made us feel like any question was ridiculous. What can I say, she helped us realize our dreams ♡
Ms. Seddiq is a good lawyer. We didn't know about her. She was recommended by another attorney who said she can do the job. My husband needed a post secondary court case, and she did a great job in beating it. I would recommend her.
Mirriam recently represented my sister in a highly publicized case. My family and I were in constant communication with her throughout the 2 years of proceedings. She was a Godsend during this ordeal. Her knowledge and expertise of the legal system was instrumental in the overall success of this case. But most importantly, she was personable, sincere and caring. This legal process was very difficult and trying for my sister and my family and her counsel, advice and amiable disposition during our many encounters made the process easier for all of us.
We hire Mirriam's law firm to represent our son in a criminal case. At first they offered a variety of choices and explained them thoroughly. As time went by, their enthusiasm diminished and it seemed that they just wanted to get this over with. There were several occasions when they would say they wanted to do something that would benefit our son, but nothing ever happened. When a major accomplishment was reached with the prosecution, I got an email saying now is the time to get everything done, finalize the needed testing and coordinate with everyone involved. When I inquired about that later, I was told they changed their minds and we don't need to do that. A plea deal was reached for a 4 - 9 year sentence each for two charges. This was my son's first offense for anything, so we we're thinking he'd get maybe a total of 12 years. In the end he was sentenced to 18 years suspended to 10 years for each count! That is quite a bit different than was the plea agreement was! We have since found out that just before the sentencing hearing, they had a talk with my son and said the terms have changed and he was looking at 9 - 18 years for each charge. They didn't fight for him, they didn't let us know anything about it and had us sit through a kangaroo court hearing where everybody, the judge, the prosecution and them were the only ones who knew about the predetermined outcome! Then they act surprised when the sentence was pronounced, but still didn't fight for a better outcome. This may not be illegal but it is certainly not moral and very deceptive! I would not recommend this law firm to anyone! Don't waste your money! We spent $13000 on doctors whose statements where never used for anything, what a waste! I am very disappointed in the outcome and the process.
