I was very impressed with Ms. Metts. She was not only well versed in the law but she was very realistic when explaining me the likely outcome of my case. She fought hard for me and I never felt neglected. I referred my brother and he was pleased as well.
It is very hard for me to give a fair review of Ms. Metts but I have tried my very best. She is very knowledgeable both about criminal law pertaining to our charge and about matters regarding bond, etc. On our very first appointment, Ms. Metts was not there and her receiptionist did not know how to get in touch with her. Not a great first impression. Even after I paid in advance for services, it was very difficult getting updates on our case. I will say the end result was favorable, even moreso than I would have thought. She worked with the victim and all the parties involved and reached a good resolution for all.
I do not recommend her for a military divorce. Poor service. Over charged me. She outright lied to me, but stated things to protect her. She represent opposing side in my opinion rather than me, the paying client.
Ms. Metts would not follow up on my e-mails about questions I had. She was not prepared therefore she did not fight for me. Because of her error items that was suppose to have been in the divorce decree were left out when I brought it to her attention Sept 2016 she said she would explain it to the judge so I can get an amended decree and since then I have been sending her e-mails and to this day it seems as if she is confused about what the issue is. Her explanation on Feb. 28, 2017 sounds like it is left to the opposing attorney for me to have the right to go back to court when the opposing attorney client( which is my ex-husband) has violated the judge order. Overcharged and was not represented.
Mrs. Metts knew the law but did not know my case. I was over charged and not represented well.
Ms. Metts was inconsistent and not always well prepared. We arrived for our first consultation and she was there but said she did not have us on her calendar. That should have been a sign. Unfortunately, we chalked it up to a scheduling error. Once retained, she did not return phone calls promptly and the custody case dragged on long after it should because she was not proactive, nor responsive. It was a frustrating experience.
I chose to do a phone consultation which was scheduled January 31st. My VISA was charged immediately. Because I didn't receive a call from Atty. Metts at the appointed time, I called more than 3 times. The office phone merely rang. Come Monday morning I called, greeted with an apology and unsatisfactory explanation (that did not include called to court, deathbed, death in the family) something other than "we left early." Secretary's questions asked and answeddred during multiple phone calls, never once speaking with the attorney herself. Refund requested but not honored.
I have never been ignored or just out right treated like I didn't matter. Told one price and then given another. 6 assistants came and went while my attorney. Everyone forgot who we were and had no idea what was going on and never called us back.
