The review is long overdue Mikayla Gow Kellogg is a gladiator for tenants. She was successful in defending an Unlawful Detainer from my landlord. Mikayla is smart, strategic, knowledgeable, great attention to details, and a tough negotiator. She is compassionate, a great listener, calm and collective, people oriented with a big heart. Qualities you want in an attorney when your home is at risk. Her email updates kept me informed and involved. Under her representation, Mikayla made tremendous progress in days that my other attorney couldn't in months. I recommended Mikayla and Kelly to friends and family. One of the best decision I ever made. Look no further...Kellogg and Van Aken is the right choice for San Francisco tenants.
Highly recommended! Eric and Mikalya handled my case and were a pleasure to work with. I had habitability issues with my apartment. Even after repeated attempts to force my property manager to deal with them, they remained unsolved. I had a quick consultation with Eric who said that I did have a case. Recently it was settled via mediation with a great result. During the process Eric and Mikalya were very helpful and very responsive. I would always get an email back from Eric or Mikalya the same day. I highly recommend them and their services if you are facing an issue with your property manager or landlord.
We can’t say enough good things about Mikayla Gow Kellogg. She took on one of the largest and most powerful landlords in San Francisco (trying to get us, husband-and-wife seniors, to move out of our rent-controlled apartment) ... and beat them decisively! She stopped their harassment, forced them to make repairs, negotiated a significant settlement, and best of all, ensured that we could remain in the apartment we lived in and loved. Mikayla is very, very smart. Crafty, strategic and tactical, intimidating to adversaries, calm and balanced with clients, she has a wonderful disposition. Mikayla’s an excellent lawyer, a powerful letter writer, negotiator and courtroom litigator. She recently left a big SF firm to form her own partnership; we recommend both Mikayla and her new firm wholeheartedly. In a nutshell, Mikayla is fabulous, a real winner. She’s tenacious and has heart. She fights for tenants because she cares about people. She’ll be a great advocate for you.
My fiancé and I recently used Mikayla to review the vendor contracts for our upcoming wedding. I honestly hadn't even considered that I'd need a lawyer for our wedding until I started planning, but I was so glad to find Mikayla. Mikayla is very friendly and she talked to me about our contracts in laymen's terms, which I appreciated. Contracts may be written in legalese, but it's nice to have someone who can break them down and help you understand the terms you're agreeing to in plain English. Our reception venue hasn't done a wedding before so their contract had some problems. Mikayla reviewed the document and promptly explained the issues and recommended steps to move forward. I was able to come up with the necessary changes and Mikayla did a second review of the edited contract before I signed with our vendor. I felt much more confident and protected having someone knowledgeable of the legalities and familiar with the wedding industry look over our materials. I have been lucky to require a lawyer only a handful of times, but when you need one it's nice to find one who is as helpful, knowledgeable, and warm as Mikayla.
