Two yrs ago Michelle Hauser was asked by my grandkids caseworker to represent them pro bono. I was so impressed with not only the knowledge she had on my case, but very impressed by years of knowledge supporting certain issues about law matters. She made the men attorney's on the other side squirm in their pants when she stood up to speak on our behave. She conducted herself like a lady and extremely courteous to the judge, which I couldn't say that about the opposing attorney. She knew our case and made all valid points clear and well said. Ms. Hauser is not an attorney I would want to be up against. She really is an excellent attorney. Taking on our case pro bono, she could have spent more time on her paying clients. She did her homework on our case and presented us as if we were her only clients.
Looking for representation in a child custody case? Don't go to Michelle Hauser. She's a money hungry attorney who only cares about the all mighty buck she stands to make. She could care less about your child. She's vulgar and offensive and rants how great she is. We went through a very long and expensive trial and when she found out we were running out of money after paying in excess of 155k, she did everything in her power to settle the case unfavorably and didn't care about our concerns. She wanted it over with when she knew money was an issue and now is suing me for her remaining fees. Tried to settle with her and in her true unreasonable style, the answer was no. I'm now forced to file bankruptcy. She'll treat you like garbage, yell at you, put you down when she doesn't want your input and then come after you using her power to file suit against you for every last dime. Wish I could turn back the hands of time. The horrible experience we had with her will last a lifetime. If you have a complex child custody case, look elsewhere. Don't retain this lady. There's so many other fine, professional attorneys out there and she's definitely not one of them. Child custody cases are so emotional and taxing anyway, and she only adds insult to injury during such a trying time.
I paid over $6000 to Ms. Hauser and got buried in the courtroom. Ms. Hauser seemed to care more about other cases than she did about my case. She told me all about the workload she has and how deep in some people are. I should have known better from the start, but I wasn't an experienced divorcee. My ex got primary custody and over $2000 a month in child support. The reason I did not go through a custody battle was because my bill with Hauser was already over $5000 for ONE visit to court and I knew I could not afford the deposition and trial at her overcharged rate. A year later, I revisited the court with a different (better) attorney. I was awarded joint shared 50/50 in one visit, no trial or deposition. Needless to say, my child support also went down. I got better results at a significantly lesser rate than Hauser. The only person I would recommend her to is my ex-wife.
Ms. Hauser is harsh, and unnecessarily abrasive in nature. She did lots of cookie cutter work and charged top dollar for it. I felt I was being overbilled and was threatened to have my case dropped when I questioned my invoices. She overbilled me thousands of dollars and lost my case to boot. I am now having to pay another atty to clean up the mess she made.
