Michael was extremely helpful by giving me multiple approaches to resolve my issue with corresponding pros and cons to each one. In the end, his recommended approach achieved the desired outcome and I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Alfred helped us with a consumer issue regarding a contract dispute with a car dealership. He returned our calls quickly (even giving us his cell phone number to get a hold of him), and answered all of our questions thoroughly. Mr. Alfred took the time out of his day, and met us at the dealership to make sure we were taken care of, and not taken advantage of. He was extremely professional, genuine, a pleasure to work with, and very personable. We felt blessed to have him working on our behalf!

Mr Alfred helped me with my estate plan. Not only was he half the price of other attorneys, but he exuded an aire of professionalism that I truly respected. Thank you!

Highly Competent Attorney Having worked with Mr. Alford on the same matter in which Dr. Carl criticizes him. In that matter, the arbitrator (highly experienced) and opposing counsel (same), both considered his work and analysis to be excellent. As did I - as for my credentials, numerous Superior Court Judges have appointed me their Special Master, and my list of clients includes attorney Robert Shapiro and several Fortune 100 companies. The fact was that Mr. Alfred did an excellent job in preparing the case; however, defense counsel raised issues that were not only unanticipated, but could not have been anticipated. In fact, Mr. Alfred saved Dr. Carl from being hit with a huge attorneys fee award that the other side was seeking (there was a fee-shifting provision in the contract which Dr. Carl had signed). In my experience, having worked for and against top lawyers throughout Southern California, Mr. Alred's job was exemplary. So I respectfully disagree with Dr. Carl, who is apparently lashing out at his attorney because the best result realistically obtainable was not what Dr. Carl had desired.

Michael Alfred is an incompetent attorney. He was passive and un-knowledgeable. He made mistakes on our contract and he was never available, seemingly on vacation the last two weeks of every month. He would ask for money, disappear and do nothing. He was reactive to the other side of the case and never seemed to have a plan of his own. When we were being beaten on every aspect of the case he recommended a settlement that benefited the other side. He was late submitting interrogatories then blamed it on me when all he had to do was ask for an extension. Avoid this guy, you can do better.

He made a show of how he could offer "silver bullets" and "golden nuggets" and other useless phrases that attempted to demonstrate a grasp of the law. He promised a lot, sympathized with my position, but produced nothing. He seemed to be inept, lost without his secretaries, paralegals, or other forms of help. In the end, he was a lot of hot air and no results. We lost our house, but just gained about $40,000 in legal fees for him in the process.

Told me he could handle my bankruptcy case, and claimed to have years of experience. He misfiled things and missed deadlines. He charged me thousands of dollars, told me the situation was my fault not his lack of competence, and ultimately I lost my case. I can understand losing the case, I just wish he hadn't pretended to have experience and knowledge that he didn't have. When it became clear he didn't know what he was doing, he still insisted he did. Don't trust him with your legal matters because he simply doesn't understand them. But, he will charge you for them.

This attorney lead my wife and I down the prim rose path, strongly advised we file a lawsuit which was over his head, promised us both in writing and verbally "on tape" that he would waive his legal fees and did not perform and took a great deal of money. He never admitted he was in over his head and never recommended we hire a different attorney who was experienced in the area of the lawsuit. My wife and I are reporting him to the California Bar Association on ethics charges. I would recomend everyone stay as far away from Attorney Alfred as possible.
