About
I created my firm with one goal in mind: to help everyday people and business owners solve any legal problems and issues that they may face. My office is a full-service practice to help clients, their friends, and families. I value all of the relationships I have built over my many years of serving the people of Southern Wisconsin. I am an experienced attorney with over 39 years of experience in private practice in Wisconsin. I have helped clients with a wide range of legal issues. I have successfully helped clients achieve their goals in Family Law, Criminal and Traffic Defense, and litigation in commercial and probate cases. I also help people and business and real estate owners solve their financial problems by way of collection, foreclosure defense, bankruptcy, both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13, and eviction. I can also help with estate planning, home and business purchases and sales, and personal injury, along with guardianship issues. You may ask, how can one person do all of this, and do it well? It is from my many years of experience in Wisconsin Law, having dealt with these areas of law multiple times. As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors' Degree in Finance, and a Law Degree, I feel privileged to serve our community, and look forward to helping you and your family.

I have used Attorney for over 20 years for several different family and business problems, and each case was resolved with professionalism and success. He helped one of my children to resolve a legal jam. He helped my wife and myself with drafting wills. He has helped my rental property business by dealing with tenants, evictions, and collections. I am always amazed at his broad range of experience, and I frequently refer friends to him.
In my years as the CEO of a company, I have used Mr. Winter on real estate, small claims issues, and family law matters, and various business transactions. I have found him to be a relentless advocate for my position in court as a client, and a professional who has an encyclopedic knowledge of the law. His years of experience also mean that he knows all the clerks and judges, and many opposing counsel and has experience practicing before/against them. Mike also is also great at follow up and returns calls in a timely fashion. I have used him many times and will use him again in the future.
I found Michael through my Employee Assistance Program and I'm so glad that I did. He was very professional with my cases. I used his service for both divorce and bankruptcy. My divorce was so smooth and he was great and easy to talk to. I will definitely recommend his services to anyone that asks.
Michael Winter is awesome. I have called Michael with questions in the past but the situations were resolved. However, earlier this year I needed help resolving a problem with the the finance department at the High School my son attended. The situation was handled within a day. He listens closely and advises accordingly. I admire him for his intelligence and professionalism as well as his caring attitude toward the people he serves. I have found my forever lawyer. Thank you Mr. Winter.
Michael Winter is the best attorney. He has great experience! He studies your case to perfection. The best money I ever spent was on Michael Winter. There are so many great things about him; I will try to sum it up in a few words...... Smart, education, professional, determined, confident, understanding, responsible, truthful, committed, and the best there is. I am thankful for him!!! Initially I had an attorney with a big office, with nice things in it; once in a while he would give me the time of day. He got my case so screwed up because he was the dumbest attorney in the world. I use to work for dumb attorneys but Mitchell Barrock was the worst. I found Michael Winter because my father saw him in action in the past in court. He was the best then and the best now. An attorney with a big office and nice things only shows that he has a lot of overhead to pay and is good at collecting his fees. Michael Winter earns his fees and more. I can't stress enough how Michael Winter is rated number 1 in my book and I am sure in many others!
Michael Winter is not a good lawyer. I hired him for a pretty easy divorce and at every turn he made excuses why he was ill prepared. Things were lost in his e-mail, he wasn't aware that I needed to sign off on a QDRO prior to submission to my ex-wife's employer, my wife's lawyer was privy to information he was not ect...Needless to say the settlement that should have been paid to me in 60 - 90 days has yet to be seen, its been six months. Horrible experience!
