Mike's background in real estate, tireless desire to solve problems, and interest in helping others makes him ideally-suited to handle real estate legal matters.Mike grew up working in his family's real estate business. His interest in real estate runs as deep as his interest in the law. His background makes him a zealous advocate for real estate businesses and has helped him achieve success making favorable law for real estate companies through litigation, legislation, and regulation. Multiple areas of Ohio real estate law were shaped by his involvement.Mike is a six-time Super Lawyer Rising Star; Crain’s Cleveland Business Forty Under Forty Award Recipient (2011); NAIOP Member of the Year (2008); and OLTA President's Award Recipient (2005). Mike served as President of the Ohio Land Title Association from 2010-2011, Trustee of the Ohio Land Title Association for 6 years, Chair of the Ohio Land Title Association Education Committee for 4 years, and Education Committee Chair and Trustee of the Northern Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties for 3 years. Mike has appeared in most of the common pleas courts in Ohio, Federal Court in the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and The Supreme Court of Ohio. Mike graduated from Capital University Law School magna cum laude, where he was Moot Court Champion, Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board, and was published in the Law Review. Mike graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as a Finance Major. Mike is also a licensed title insurance agent and real estate salesperson (inactive status). He has written numerous articles and given many presentations on subjects of interest to the real estate industry. He is also a contributing author to Baldwin's Ohio Practice Ohio Real Estate Law, published by Thomson West.
