I've known and worked with Mike in the legal field for almost 20 years. We have been colleagues within the same law firms twice, and he has been my go-to outside I.P. litigation counsel all three times that I served as a General Counsel in-house. Mike is world-class high technology attorney, who brings to each of his clients a rare combination of excellence in I.P. litigation, intelligence in strategic I.P. management and licensing, and accessibility and responsiveness to the clients that he serves. He is equally comfortable and adept in the high-stakes, Fortune 100, multi-national litigation arena, as he is in the start-up, small company, single jurisdiction litigation setting, and brings valuable guidance to his clients in both of those settings. In all cases, he is able to keep overall client goals and needs in focus while deftly implementing the I.P. enforcement strategy and tactics that will accomplish those goals. I cannot recommend Mike highly enough.
Michael Renaud is my key patent strategy advisor here at Enterprise Systems Technologies, S.à r.l. and has been for more than 12 years as my career has progressed through several other companies, including Aprisma, Enterasys and Wal-Mart. Michael is my key advisor regarding patent acquisitions, licensing, enforcement and all other aspects of generating revenue from patent assets. He is the first person I call when I have a legal issue involving patent litigation whether on the defendants or plaintiffs side. I have reached out to him immediately after joining each new organization (and sometimes before making the final decision to move) to ensure I will have him at my side as I seek to make a significant impact early in my tenure. Together we have created a lot of revenue for my organizations, managed successful monetization programs and successfully defended infringement claims. He understands the market, is known for his business-like approach and is among the most creative and strategic attorneys with whom I have worked.
I trust Mike. He is thorough, creative, and focused on success. Mike has helped my company leverage a complex portfolio of patents using a business-focused approach. He communicates the value of patent holdings within the context of the marketplace and not just as stand-alone assets. Mike’s approach works because he appeals to the rational, bottom-line mindset of the business professionals with whom he negotiates. He has successfully litigation and assist in negotiation license agreements which have generated more than $200 million in revenues with some of the largest corporations in the world. Mike has also lead our enforcement efforts us in the courtroom and his skills in both Federal District Courts and the ITC are very well-regarded, which further strengthens our hand in negotiations.
