This may not be what you are looking for but as a surgeon, I hate all lawyers and I owe them nothing. In my long experience I am hostile toward any lawyer and believe lawyers' reputations are very well deserved. Especially the divorce and custody lawyers that I've experienced in three states over the last 25 years. In spite of that I have been asked to provide my realistic criticism of this law firm. I told them they may not know what they are asking for. However, on further thought I had to admit that 10 years ago this law firm permanently changed my five children's lives for the better forever. After a long legal struggle. This firm did it again last year after we moved back to Colorado. This firm is a product of legal wisdom and experience Fact is, if I had to do this again I could never go to another law firm. Hinds law firm corrected erroneous custody decisions in Colorado years ago when it was impossible to do so. They did it again after I moved back from two states that had prehistoric family laws designed to protect uncaring moms instead of the welfare of your children. I know from my research this law firm has influenced family law legislation in Colorado enough to change current Colorado law to become more enlightened and focused on the children. There are no other law firms in my three states let alone Denver with this kind of legacy. And the courts know this law firm. Courts know that they will represent solid cases. Especially those that have the true interest of children involved. If you come to this outfit with BS they will tell you. Trust me you need to know. Good luck Richard E, MD
I've been a client of Rob Hinds for over 20 years. He has helped me on two occassions; first, with children being taken by my ex-husband from school out of state and this month with closure to child support for college expenses. Both times, Rob was honest and provided options with appropriate pros and cons. He is level headed, professional and competent. I highly recommend his services.
When I hired Rob less then a year ago, I was coming off a very disappointing experience with a different lawyer and was unsure what to expect from the legal community. Since the first moment I met Rob, he was invested and caring. I was involved in a custody dispute, where I ended up fighting for the ability to see my child. Rob jumped in headfirst and poured every resource that he and the firm had into my case. He dealt with an aggressive and frustrating OC with class and honor, as well as kept my expectations grounded, never shying away or shielding me from the unpleasant realities of the case. The legal strategy and presentation during the trial was perfect. He did exactly what was necessary for me to walk away with the legal authority to raise my child. Rob delivered an emphatic victory on a case that was everything but a sure thing. Following the trial and the subsequent fall out from the other side, Rob remained levelheaded. He continued to do what was best for my case. I remember clearly something Rob said to me that I think epitomizes his philosophy; when I become frustrated with opposing council, he called and after patiently listening to me said, "This is why you have a lawyer, so you don't do something emotional and ruin everything you have worked for." I highly recommend Rob and the entire Hines and Hines firm.
I only worked with Rob Hinds for a brief period but what an exceptional job he did. He always took time for me, did an amazing job preparing me for what to expect (and how to react) and I was very happy with his professionalism in court. I am more than content with my results. I also have to mention the wonderful staff in the office who go out of their way to help.
I was in a very dark and sinister divorce. My case was assigned to a very good Judge at the District Court level. During the divorce Rob convinced me to transfer my case to a Judicial Arbitration Group, JAG. Both the primary attorney and Rob told me the JAG was just like district court. That was almost 3 years ago; the JAG judge divorced us and after 2 years of filing motions to the JAG judge(the decree was not adhered to by my ex ), the JAG Judge told me he could not enforce the decree and has since moved it back to District Court. So Hinds Family Law got a LOT of money getting me divorced and I am now starting over in the district court. What kind of response do I get from Rob Hinds? NONE! If my ex hubby was an honest guy, JAG would be fine but the fact of the matter is his behavior was criminal( tax fraud, filing a false petition for Guardianship stating my son lived with him for 2 years in Summit County while he was living with me, over/under valuation of millions of dollars in real estate, stating our business was in the red). So now; I am on $1.5 Million worth of mortgages-all debt which my ex had 3 years to get me off which he doesn't want to and has made no effort to do so other than increase the list price $500,000 from a list price that never brought an offer.; He hasn't completed trust paperwork to transfer a trust( JAG can't enforce according to the JAG Judge; all in all 4 different "COURT" orders that are being ignored. Now, I am starting all over as it is now back in District Court; no money to splurge on big time attorneys. I have emailed him repeatedly , hoping he would have the decency to fix his mistakes and I have never gotten a response.
