We have used Michael Collins from the Cain & Herren Law Firm for many types of law. He has helped us with general business filings, LLC paperwork, real estate paperwork we even used Michael’s help with help on a mainland purchase order for our local business that was not being fufilled. We have used this firm now for over a decade.
Michael Collins is a very kind and accommodating lawyer. He is very knowledgable in Bankruptcy, modifications and so much more. Very easy to talk to and always there when you need answers. I've never had any lawyer in Maui that's like him. He is very down to earth and can easily relate to his clients. I would recommend him to all the people of Maui, that's how confident I am of how capable he is. He is the best!
Never fear,Michael is here and he will be your best friend if you ever need a bankruptcy attorney. His office rocks and everyone there are there for YOU. The consultation is free and they are with you every step of the way ...I give him 20 out of 10. Thanks Michael.
Michael provided me with a complimentary phone consultation about my pending home foreclosure. Michael was friendly, easy to talk to and knowledgeable concerning the smallest of details. He made some excellent recommendations. I highly recommend consulting him for your foreclosure/bankruptcy questions.
I recently when through a chapter 7 bankruptcy and was very pleased with the knowledge ease and results of the process. I would recommend Micheal Collins as an attorney to trust in the time of stressful decisions such as bankruptcy. I no longer have the burdens of the debt that haunted me and I can thank Micheal and his staff for their help.
I paid $300 for an hour long legal consultation regarding my deceased parents' estate. Overall, I was unhappy with the service. The attorney seemed knowledgeable, but not interested in hearing my story. To start, he called at the start of our meeting to delay it by an hour because he was running late and wanted to grab lunch. When we met, there was no apology. His staff were incredibly welcoming, but he was not. And, he kept talking. Several times a friend and I tried to ask a question or provide information, and he would talk over or interrupt us. He was not interested. I felt it was an expensive, unproductive consult because he did not tell me much new information. Then, his phone alarm started ringing at least 2 different times and his secretary interrupted the meeting to remind him of another commitment. So the meeting ended 15 minutes early. When I requested a return of $75 because the meeting ended early, he would not authorize it saying that a follow up email from him would cover the cost. Well that's not what I paid for. The $75 was returned only after I filed a complaint with my credit card company for non receipt of services.
Michael Collins was my attorney on a land dispute. Over a number of years he was systematically overbilling me. The over-billing totalled over $10k. When I accused him of it, on the phone, he actually admitted it, and I recorded it. David Cain, one of the main partners, ignored me several times when I reached out to him to discuss this matter. When he finally met with me, he refused to listen to my recording, and threatened me, saying that it was illegal to make that recording and he was calling the police and I would go to jail. I also recorded this conversation. Recording a conversation in Hawaii is perfectly legal, so was he purposefully lying or just incompetent? Shouldn't a lawyer know this? When we went to court over the matter, I asked Michael Collins under oath on the witness stand if he remembered our conversation when I accused him. He said yes. I asked what his response was and he said that yes, it was overbilling, and he still expected me to pay it. Overbilling is STEALING. It's even more insulting when you realize they are already making hundreds of dollars an hour, but apparently that is not enough. Our corrupt judge still ruled in his favor! So he got away with it, for now. I am appealing. And he even added a couple thousand more on top for his troubles. They docked my bank account of nearly $12k. Avoid this law firm like the plague, they are completely crooked.
