About

What does a divorce attorney do for fun? They go to criminal court to work on misdemeanors and felonies. At least that is what Meredith used to do. Meredith started out practicing primarily in criminal defense, although her practice areas expanded to include personal injury, and business law. Eventually Meredith’s exclusive focus was divorce and custody.Meredith was born and raised in Las Vegas. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at American University in Washington, D.C., Meredith switched gears. She moved to San Diego to complete her law degree at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2009. Meredith is admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada, and before the U.S. Federal District Court.Do you have any hobbies? On a whim, I decided to enter a bodybuilding competition. It was more fun that I was expecting. After the first competition I sort of got the bug and entered more. Now, most mornings are spent working out at the gym. What are your top 3 favorite movies? Pretty Woman, because every girl loves a fairytale love story. Something’s Gotta Give, so witty! Beaches, it’s a beautiful story of true friendship, and that’s hard to find. How did you meet your husband? We met in high school, and I wanted nothing to do with him. Years later, the same friends who introduced us in high school had a party and invited us both. I still wanted nothing to do with him, but he was persistent! Most memorable case to date? I represented an older Korean woman in a misdemeanor when I first started criminal practice. She was a volunteer bus driver for her church when she was involved in a car accident where the opposing driver died. At sentencing, after my argument, the entire congregation who came to court on her behalf stood up and clapped for me! It was embarrassing but made me feel like I was appreciated.

I found the Law Offices of Patti, Sgro, Lewis & Roger on Google. I was going through a horrible time in my life and needed to find a divorce lawyer. After doing some research on their website, I saw that they practiced Family Law. I decided to call even though I wasn't exactly sure if I needed a lawyer or not because me and my husband, now ex-husband, did not have that many things at least I thought. I called the firm and the receptionist was very helpful. She transferred me to an assistant who I explained my story to and she said the attorney I needed to speak with was in a meeting. I was thinking great another attorney that won't call me back. It was about twenty minutes later that a woman named Meredith called me and said that she was a Family Law attorney and that she could help me with my divorce. I got really excited because I felt like she genuinely cared about my situation and made an appointment to meet her that day. When I met her she was so nice and helpful and made me think about a lot of stuff. I thought that we didn't have that many things to talk about but I learned there were a lot of things I didn't know about divorces and especially when my kids were involved. She walked me through the entire process and I am happy that she did. I am now happily divorced and I would recommend her to anyone if they are going through a divorce. She doesn't make you feel worse than you might already feel.

I usually wouldn't write a review but I was referred to Meredith by a friend of mine. He said she would help me with my DUI. It was my first DUI in my life and I was really scared especially because I went to jail. I got bailed out by my friend who told me to call Meredith because she would be able to help me. I called her and she met with me that day. I signed all the paperwork and she explained to me what was going to happen. After talking to her I wasn't as scared anymore because she let me know all my requirements and I didn't really have to do anything besides do them and I didn't even have to go to trial because she got me a deal. I was able to get my case dismissed and she even sealed my records after about 8 months later. I was happy to have her because I didn't know anything about DUI's or that I needed to seal my record because at the time I was only about 23. She was a real cool person and I would recommend her to anyone.

I hired Meredith to do a simple joint custody case. She ended up filing the wrong paperwork, which ended up causing the judge to raise my child support and the case was dismissed. At no time did she speak up or fight for me during that hearing. We then tried to settle but really gave no effort in negotiating with the other party. It was an expensive mistake. I hired another lawyer which fixed everything. If you are considering Meredith, I recommend moving on.
