About

 Melody Zeidan focuses her practice in the area of labor and employment.  She began her career in private practice serving as general counsel to public school systems and municipalities, later narrowing her focus to concentrate on labor and employment law, representing management in the private sector. Melody counsels clients to help them maintain compliance with the gamut of state and federal employment laws, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.  She assists in the creation and implementation of employment policies and employee handbooks to benefit clients in their operations, as well as assisting with conducting internal investigations when necessary. She represents clients in litigation and federal and state agency proceedings, and also provides formal training, as well as day-to-day legal advice, guiding employers in issues involving termination and other disciplinary matters, allegations of discrimination, wage and hour disputes, and related employment issues.  Melody has experience representing public and private employers, including municipalities, school boards, universities, religious institutions, health care providers, and businesses both large and small. Melody is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Mobile Bar Association, the Vernon Z. Crawford Bay Area Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. She serves on the Executive Board of the Alabama State Bar Women Lawyers section.  She also donates her time and services to the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the Joe Jefferson Playhouse.  Melody is a member of the Junior League of Mobile and of the Bella Voce of Mobile women's choir, and she serves on the Board of Directors of the Mobile Arts Council.  She was a member of the inaugural class of Connect Mobile and is admitted to practice in all of Alabama's state and federal courts.
