I had just been served with a letter that I was being taken to due process for an evaluation my IEP team agreed we should be given. My husband and I had been given the wrong information telling us there would be no difference between having an IEE or another District evaluation. With the unpredictability of District evaluations we opted for the IEE, only to find myself now being told I would have to attend a mediation and withstand the process up to a hearing. I was lost and frustrated. There was no number to call to ask for an explanation. I would have to spend my time preparing, not even knowing what I was preparing. Then Melissa stepped up to help me.
