Melanie was awesome representing my case. At first, it seems that she may be a bit intimidating asking you question after question. It may seem like she is interrogating you but actually she is on YOUR side. It's her way for you to realize how Social Security and the Judge looks at an individuals case and what evidence is needed to be successful. I felt that way in the beginning but shortly realized there is a method to the madness. Listen to what she tells you and follow through with what she ask from you. You will be glad you did! WE WON! I couldn't have done it without her and her helpful staff!

Mrs Melanie was straight forward and very honest with me from the start. She worked very hard for me and my family. I would recommend her to anyone.

Ms. Leavitt, was very knowledgeable, realistic, prepared me for what may happen, her office was very efficient, easy to communicate with and very quick to process any information I would give them. Unlike a previous attorney I hired with the title of "disability specialists" who were just the opposite of Ms. Leavitt and her office and they were completely unprepared for the hearing I had and because of this I was originally denied due to their incompetence and lax attitude. With Ms. Leavitt things moved quickly, the only wait was due to SSD processing my medical documents, I would very highly recommend Ms. Leavitt to anyone who would ask me if I knew any good Disabilty attorneys. Ms. Leavitt never mislead me nor gave me any false hopes, she was straight to the point with a no nonsense attitude, very professional and very experienced.

In the beginning Melanie was very polite and helpful. Then the further along with my case she would use very vulgar language. At our last meeting she lashed out at me verbally telling me that if i could have a boyfriend or get on a social media site, then I was NOT disabled. She proceeded to talk to me like I was nothing, cussing and being rude. I was in tears and very upset and she knew I had issues with mental illnesses. I got tired of being talked to like that and took up for myself. She mailed me a letter a week later, resigning from my case. I was going to get rid of her anyway. Very unprofessional way to handle things.

Find a real disability attorney! Strung me along for 2 years and I was denied. She did not turn paperwork in on time. Rude and obnoxious! Said she would really be surprised if I was denied. I was do to her errors. Obnoxious, unfriendly staff! I'd give her a 0 if the site allowed.

Do NOT hire this attorney. She did nothing for me. I filed for medical disability from my job (State of LA). I was denied by two doctors, a state doctor and a doctor of my choosing. Ms. Leavitt wrote a letter to me later on and said I would have to find another attorney as she did not handle lawsuits. (In other words, I would have had to file a lawsuit in District Court to appeal). By the time she sent this letter to me, my time was exhausted to file the lawsuit. She didn't tell me this either when I met with her two different times. I sure wasted my time on her and my chance at getting my disability.
