Ann Newman is an attorney with Freed Marcroft. Ann's extensive analytical and negotiation skills are a tremendous asset in Freed Marcroft's marital cases. Ann's experience as a seasoned litigator, a certified divorce mediator and a trained collaborative attorney make her uniquely positioned to assist the firm's clients in any approach to divorce. A lifelong athlete, Ann graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and received her Master of Science in Exercise Psysiology from Northeastern University. She worked as an exercise pshysiologist prior to deciding to go to law school. Ann received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut. Ann, a mother of two sons, is a fierce advocate for children. She represented children for 12 years in abuse and neglect cases before transitioning her practice to focus exclusively on family law. Ann is a member of the Connecticut Council for Non Adversarial Divorce, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Hartford County Bar Association, and serves on the board of the Connecticut Women's Golf Association.Ann spends her time outside of the office with her sons Nick and Jack, and her husband Scott. When she's not training for marathons, she's most often found on the golf course.
