Maxwell “Max” Kirchhoff is a third-generation Montanan, born and raised in Bozeman. Prior to attending law school, Max earned a bachelor’s degree at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, and a master’s degree at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. As an undergraduate, Max worked in the European Parliament and conducted research in Southwest Africa. As a graduate student, Max instructed courses on American politics.After Max decided to choose a career in law over academia, he returned home to attend the University of Montana School of Law. During law school, Max served as a staff member and business editor of the Public Land & Resources Law Review, as well as the president of the Federalist Society. He completed his clinical training at the ACLU of Montana. After law school, Max became a member of the Montana State and Federal Bars, the Montana Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Committee of the American Bar Association (YLD) and a board member of the Washington Young Lawyers Committee. Max is licensed to practice law in Montana and Washington.Outside of the law Max enjoys hiking, boxing, convenience stores, hunting, skiing, junk food, weightlifting, traveling, and all things Austin. He is a proud owner of a female bullmastiff that outweighs most humans and recently discovered his blood is actually red, white and blue.
