Maury represented my son for a probable cause hearing, regarding a complaint that was completely fabricated against my son and had no validity. Maury provided great advice, was well organized, and helped keep my son focused on the needs for his case. Everything he predicted came true, the complaint was tossed before it was even heard in court, after Maury met with the detective and the Magistrate. He is upfront, skilled, knowledgeable, he listens to concerns, and he knows what he is doing. I think this other reviewer perhaps had no case, or was not reasonable, maybe he wanted things his way instead of taking Maury's advice. Whatever the reason, he is completely wrong about Maury and I highly, highly recommend his services.
I had a very tough child custody case on my hands -- two children to be exact, and a now ex-spouse who was making our lives unbearable. Attorney Ringel educated me fully about the process, empowered me to make informed choices under difficult circumstances, and delivered results that exceeded my expectations. He was universally respected by court personnel, the judge and even my ex's lawyer. His fees were more than reasonable. He was always there for me, with a very kind and sympathetic approach. He calmed me during the stormy moments, and lifted me up from depressing times. But the bottom line is that he delivered a parenting plan for me and my children that was better than I had expected, cost less than I planned for, and was done more quickly than I expected. If you want a seasoned, family lawyer who is honest and trustworthy and good for his word, this is the attorney for you. He gives free initial consultations, so I'd urge you to check him out.
Maury did a family visitation case that dragged out for two years and cost over $40,000. When the case was over the mother decided to violate the court order and not let me see my son. When I tried to contact Maury he wouldn’t even take a phone call or spend five minutes to give any advise. I had to send him multiple emails to get one response. That’s terrible client service and I would not recommend you use Maury for any case.
Terrible lawyer. Bad reputation with other lawyers and court staff. Weak. Did nothing for my case. Made things worse
I have been dealing with the court system for quite some time now and needless to say I’ve talked to a lot of attorneys and Maurice is the worst. He is not one of the worst he is THE WORST attorney I have ever dealt with. His insensitivity, incompetence, and derisiveness was shocking and appalling. He bragged about having 20 years of experience but was unable to come up with a single thought that could support my case. When I asked about case law that was relevant to my situation, he again couldn’t come up with any thoughts. He side stepped questions and continued to boast about his 20 years of experience. So much experience and not a single intelligent thought. After about an hour of him insulting me he asked for a ridiculous retainer. The rate he was planning on giving me must have been quite different than the one the previous reviewer mentioned. Do not hire this attorney. DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY. DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY.
The only skill that is worthy of mention is his amazing ability to talk good game in his office. Once we walked into the courtroom, he was obviously intimidated by the judge and seemed INCAPABLE of thinking on his feet, getting flustered whenever things in court switched gears. He did not speak for me in court and honestly I felt like I wasn't even there. I would have been better off without him and almost $3000 richer. His prices are fairly reasonable which is why we went with him, but clearly it reflects the service. He did NOTHING for my case accept maybe make things worse. He kept trying to make me feel better by telling me that the judge "respected" him. My fear is that Mr. Ringel may have respect confused with pity. My suggestion? Keep looking.
