In a difficult, complicated and confusing time I needed the help of an experienced attorney. Matthew is very responsive and I appreciated his excellent communication throughout. Without the help of Matthew I would not have had the successful outcome that I did. He is competent and confident, just what was needed. I felt he listened to my concerns and fought diligently for the best possible outcome. He was patient with me every step of the way, making sure I knew where I needed to be and what needed to be completed after each process. Not to mention follow up calls after my hearing to confirm I didn't need any additional help. I made the best decision retaining Mr. Hoff!
I had a 10 year old DUI case with an FTA and license suspension. He got it reduced to a misdemeanor negligent driving charge with no supervised probation or random UA -bench probation only for two years or until my fine was paid in full. I was SO SCARED to turn myself in after 10 years of absconding. He walked me through the process over the phone BEFORE I had even met with him in person, contracted his services, or paid him a dime. I turned myself in to Clark County Sheriffs Dept. at the jail, fully expecting to be arrested at that time, however...... because I did everything in the correct manner, looked beyond "presentable", had everything I needed and nothing I didn't, was polite, cooperative, and was in an obvious state of "surrender" and had my hands visible and in front of me at all times......I was not taken into custody by the deputies staffed at the jail. In fact, I was basically led by a female deputy, through security, to the the other side of the building where the courtrooms are located. She walked me to the counter, letting me bypass a dozen others waiting their turn to hopefully get on that day's docket by the 8am deadline. I successfully went before the judge entering my not guilty plea (which I was advised to do by Mr. Hoff in our previous phone conversation), and left the courthouse with a scheduled date of return for a trial. **NOTE I had done all this BEFORE even officially contracting his services for legal representation, and was ONLY able to do so because of the FREE PHONE CONSULTATION and advice he graciously gave me with no expectations or strings attached. Of course, I'm sure he hoped I would contract his services, but I was in no way obligated to do so. Because I followed his instructions, and my situation actually turned out BETTER than even he predicted, I felt more than sure he was the MAN for the job, so to speak, and ended up meeting with him, and contracting him as my legal counsel. There were many weird factors/details to my case. The fact it was 10 years old, thus many statutes having changed.....coupled with the fact that the prosecution was what I can only describe as "out for blood" considering the amount of time that had passed AND the fact that I voluntarily turned myself in, along with many other factors both helpful and damning. My case would have been difficult for any seasoned attorney to predict it's outcome. Mr. Hoff (Matt) was able to leverage a very favorable outcome/plea deal for me and I didn't have to go to trial. I am grateful for his expertise and competence, but even more so for the way he made me feel comfortable with divulging details of my case and for the way he never once made me feel as though I was "guilty". He always showed concern with the details, and was attentive when I spoke. Never once did he "gloss over" any facts or details or tell me that anything I was saying was irrelevant or did not matter. He made sure that I was aware and fully cognizant of everything I was signing and or agreeing/not agreeing to. While I have no clue what other attorneys charge for representation, I feel that every penny spent with him was more than worth it, and can say that he provided a very detailed, itemized statement of every minute that he charged me for, and also included/detailed the time he did not charge me for, which I thought was awesome as well. Although I do not plan on ever being on the wrong side of the law again, I wouldn't think twice about contracting his legal services for a second, third, fourth etc. time. I believe that if Mr. Hoff could not provide you with a favorable outcome, he we would point you in the direction of another attorney who could, as I had another legal issue in a different state in an area he did not practice, and he did exactly this. He is honest in his abilities and will not provide any false information to you. He will work hard for the outcome you desire and will keep you informed every step of the way.
Six months ago, I was charged by the bias police report. I lost my job and lost my home because of this. I decided to fight the case till I won. I have a strong believe there is justice! Actually I was a real victim. I was very angry, and stress out about my case. It caused my health decline. When I called Mr. Hoff, he quickly set up an appointment to meet with me in his office. We started to discuss my case. I was impressed by his professional manners, his fluent talking, sharp thinking and knowledgeable, and dedication to his job. He cares about his clients very much. He stays in touch with his clients often; especially if something new comes out in the case, I remember he called me on the weekend to let me know and discuss the case. We worked hard together; finally we reached the goal to dismiss the case that we set up in the beginning. I am very happy with the result. Therefore, I really appreciated his excellent work. I highly recommend that you hire Matthew R. Hoff to be your attorney to be successful!
I hired Mr.Hoff to represent me June 2013. When hiring an attorney to represent you , there are several variables to consider: Does this lawyer : Have a reasonable reputation ? Understand your crazy state of mind when your arrested ? Respect your rights and dignity? Well I can say Mr. Hoff was "outstanding "with his representation. I know I was difficult as a client at times , and when your going through the unknown , to look back at the outcome I could not of been more pleased. I want to just say thank you Matt for helping me get my life back and not go in financial debt while doing so.
If you have been charged with a DUI i recommend matt. HE was extremely professional, and very knowledgeable. I was charged with my second DUI and i thought for sure i was done for.But matt was able to drop my second DUI charge down to a neglagent charge. Instead of a possibly couple months to a month in jail all i got was work crew and i had to install a ignition interlock on my car.
After my court appointed attorney told me I couldn't get into diversion and I should just take the charges and spend up to six months in jail I hired Matt and he was able to work with the prosecutors and get me into the diversion program. He is a great attorney and I would recommend him to anyone
I AM FROM THE PIERCE COUNTY AREA, NOT AT ALL FAMILIAR WITH THE VANCOUVER AREA OR ATTORNEYS. I WAS INVOLVED IN A COMPLEX INCIDENT WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SIGNIFICANT INCARCERATION AND A HEFTY FINE. ATTORNEY HOFF WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN DIVERSION WITH NO INCARCERATION OR FINE. I AM GRATEFUL TO ATTORNEY HOFF. I CAN NOW SLEEP AT NIGHT IN MY OWN BED. I WOULD RECOMMEND ATTORNEY HOFF WITH NO RESERVATIONS. THANK YOU AGAIN. RICHARD
Matthew Hoff represented my wife in Clark County Court earlier this year on a Domestic Violence Charge that came out of a Family Argument and should have never been filed in the first place by the local Police Department. We trusted Matthew and followed his advice. After several months Matthew's work with the Prosecutor resulted in a dismissal without her having to go to court. We highly recommend Matthew , he did an excellent job. r
When I contacted Mr. Hoff, I was not looking for an attorney to help me beat a charge, but rather someone to help me present the facts. I had been served with an anti-harassment order from a pregnant ex and knew that if this thing stuck, my hopes of becoming a teacher were over. I felt angry, betrayed, and that the plaintiff was doing this to get a jump start on an eventual custody battle. I knew that the plaintiff didn't have a case, but I was terrified that my lack of legal knowledge could put me in a position where I may say or do something to compromise my defense. This is where Mr. Hoff came in. Mr. Hoff recognized the illegitimacy of the claim and used his solid knowledge of the law pertaining to this matter to successfully present why the claim should be dismissed. Had it not been for Mr. Hoff's fast and dedicated attention to my case, I might be faced with the reality of not being able to teach after so many years of schooling. I would highly recommend Mr. Hoff to anyone served with a protection order. They are no joke and can ruin your life. I believe Mr. Hoff should be the first person you call.
I rarely give a complete A+ review on any kind of product or service, but in this case quite frankly I can't think of anything bad or disappointing about my experience hiring attorney Matthew Hoff of Vancouver, WA. I had a marginal DUI case (.08) with a shaky police report but the DUI laws in Washington are complex involving separate actions from the Department of Licensing that have no link to your court case. I would not recommend trying to navigate this on your own. Matt is friendly, honest and lays it all your options. He explains everything clearly and I never waited more than half a day for a return call or e-mail. I've had a few experiences with attorneys for work and family stuff and get frustrated sometimes because of their lack of response to my questions and calls. Matt was always accessible and if he didn't know the answer to my question, he found out quickly and let me know. One more thing I liked about working with Matt was he followed up with me. I'm new to town and had no clue where to go to handle all the paperwork but Matt walked with me to the places I needed to go and made sure I knew where to go to wrap up my paperwork. If you need a lawyer fast who you can trust and feel comfortable with, I'd strongly say to hire Matt Hoff.
