About
Matthew Storey is a partner at the Law Offices of Schwartz & Storey. Mr. Storey's focus is on representing families in all areas of general and special education and equality law. As a respected attorney in the field of special education, Mr. Storey has given numerous seminars and lectures on special education, self-advocacy, and was a professor of Law and Ethics at the Brandman University School Psychology graduate program. Involved in special education most of his life, Mr. Storey's younger brother has cerebral palsy and his parents fought with different school districts for eighteen years. During those years there were fewer advocates, attorneys, and resources available to families. The experience was transformative. Participating in the AVID program, Mr. Storey has helped kids study for AP level courses, the SAT, and prepare college entrance exams. As a teacher's assistant Mr. Storey tutored high-school students in the areas of math, English, History, and science. Mr. Storey also worked with Legal Aid assisting low income individuals with legal problems, including health and welfare benefits, immigration and poverty, family disputes, and consumer law. After honorably serving in the United States Air Force, Mr. Storey attended the University of California at San Diego where he received a degree in Political Science and International Relations and received his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Mr. Storey resides in San Diego with his wife Alina and sons, Lucas and Logan.

Matt was amazing in his knowledge of the law and the interworkings of the districts. He is a zealous advocate for children's educational rights. I am a client, but also an attorney, and highly recommend him as both a client and peer.
