Matt has successfully tried cases in federal and state courts in California, and litigated dozens of class actions, intellectual property disputes, and other complex commercial cases for business clients across the U.S. and internationally. He has also successfully served as class counsel in impact litigation, including a recent case that will change the way psychotropic drugs are used in nursing homes. Matt also has extensive experience with appeals in federal, state and territorial courts. In an appeal Matt argued in the Federal Circuit in 2010, he won a published defense judgment invalidating all the patent claims asserted against his client over a strong dissent.  BraunHagey & Borden LLP serves as trial counsel and special general counsel to businesses and private equity and hedge funds facing complex litigation, regulatory events, and legal compliance issues. The firm has successfully tried over 70 cases to verdict and led client victories in dozens of multi-million dollar business settlements. In the past four years, we successfully prosecuted and defended difficult cases resulting in client victories exceeding $700 million. We also have advised on litigation risk and strategy for private equity acquisition events, conducted internal investigations to resolve regulatory compliance issues, and responded to regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings.
