I was cited for a Domestic Assault charge. I had never been in trouble with the law before, needless to say I was stressed and a bundle of nerves. Prior to Mr. Mankey I spoke to 3 other attorneys. They not only seemed disinterested in my case (even though it was their specialty), all 3 of them told me the chance of "winning" my case was slim to none and they pushed their fees hard. One quoted me $8,000.00 to start and said I was probably looking at close to $12,000 all said and done. The moment I talked to Mr. Mankey he brought me down from the ledge of fear. He explained my charge, in depth explained the process and my options (both good and worse case scenario) and went over his fees. He and Heidi communicated everything along the way and assured me not to worry. The result: we settled out of court with continuance for dismissal. If you find yourself in need of a criminal defense attorney I highly recommend Mr. Matthew Mankey.

Mr. Mankey is one of the best attorneys in the twin cities. He went above and beyond to answer all of my questions/doubts, even on nights and weekends. Ms. Kempin and Mr. Mankey make a great team, they complement each other very well. They always treated me with the utmost respect, even at times where I was being constantly demanding, they made me feel like family. They helped me tremendously during one of the toughest times in my life. I highly recommend Mankey Law if you're ever in need of legal representation, they save lives.

I traveled to California with two friends. Unbeknownst to me, one of my friends purchased over 100 pounds of marijuana gummies and wax. We were stopped in southern Minnesota by a State Trooper. The car was searched, and we were all charged with First Degree Controlled Substance Crimes. I was looking at 56 to 78 months in prison and I did not even know there were drugs in the car. I hired Mr. Mankey. He challenged the legality of the stop of the car and the scope and expansion of the search. He wrote a extremely persuasive memorandum and cross examined the Trooper for almost three hours. By the time Mr. Mankey was through with him, he had developed a facial tick and was so humiliated that he forgot his gun in the courtroom! The prosecuting attorney dismissed the case against me. Mr. Mankey beat him up on the stand so badly, he did not even wait for the judge to rule on the suppression of evidence, he just dismissed the case. The prosecutor even complimented Mr. Mankey on his cross examination! I now still have a clean record and I owe it all to Mr. Mankey and the wonderful job he did exposing the illegality of the Trooper’s actions. I highly recommend him. He only handles serious felony cases and he takes them seriously. He kept me informed about my case and always promptly returned my phone calls – he went above and beyond; he was worth every penny I spent. Thank you, Matthew & Heidi, for EVERYTHING!

I was charged with several crimes resulting from an altercation with my ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately the charges triggered a probation violation as well. Mr. Mankey walked me through the process of getting a restraining order against him without charging me for that part of the representation because he knew hiring him on the new charge and probation violation would be tough on me. No, he isn’t inexpensive but we got superb results. I would highly recommend him. Perhaps most important is that he really cared about me. He would call or text just to see how I was doing. He supported my sobriety and continues to stay in contact with me even though my cases are resolved. He knew everyone in the courthouse, the judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, clerks and even the bailiffs. He is very knowledgeable about the law and can cite cases and statutes off the top of his head. I will be forever grateful that I retained Mr. Mankey. He was the right man for the job.

Mr. Mankey is the best criminal defense attorney. He was very upfront with me about my case. He didn't have to put other attorneys down to make him look better. He is the best criminal lawyer. He even helped me when social services got involved. He didn't take any pushback from the prosecutor. He knew that if I was convicted, it would ruin my life. Mr. Mankey was not afraid to dig in his heels, do the research, and go to trial. He was prepare to go all the way. He filed a motion to dismiss the charges and it was good and long. My case was dismissed and I kept my job, house, and reputation. We are now working on an expungement. Thank you Mr. Mankey.

Mankey is the best drug lawyer ever. In 2019 I was dumb and got caught smoking marijuana in the park with friends. I thought I would take the blame. That was a mistake. Mr. Mankey got the charge reduced to a public nuisance. The original charge could have stopped me from having a job! I owe him. He did what he said he would do and always gave it to me straight. If he wasn’t available, his paralegal Heidi always returned my calls when I had questions. You can’t go wrong with Defense Attorney Mankey!

Mr. Mankey was an amazing criminal defense attorney. He took the time to explain the charges and possible outcomes. He negotiated a stay of adjudication on my charges and I only had to pay prosecution costs. After my year of unsupervised release, we got the charge expunged. He saved me the embarrassment of ever having to put that I was charged with a crime on a job application. He answered all my calls when I was scared because I thought my life was over. I am so glad I found the best defense attorney around. I hope I never need him again but I know he will be there for me if I do. Thank you Mr. Mankey!
