He very knowledgeable about the law and was able to gave me his opinion through his experience with the law and the courtroom. He was patient in explaining the positives and negatives of the legal pursuits, along with the risks. I was especially impressed with his control and approach in the courtroom. He was direct, to the point, and would not back down. He won’t let go. He is excellent at arguing the law and questioning witnesses.
He really fought hard for me in court and wouldn't let go of any of the issues. He is excellent at his cross examination and very articulate and to the point. Showed very good knowledge of the law. Very experienced in knowing which judge and courthouse to file with in trying to get a favored outcome in court. He took my calls all throughout the week and was patient and attentive to my concerns. I feel lucky to have had him on my side.
This was a difficult time in my life and Mr. Lax helped guide me and gave me the time and help I needed to get the results I wanted. I was very satisfied with his eye for details and got me a very good settlement
Matthew was responsive to my needs, he guided me into safe harbor and stayed within our budget. I recommend him! Cheers, Ferris
Matthew has been my go-to attorney for the last few years. I have experienced several other local attorneys over the years but Matthew's attention to detail, coupled with his experience and communication style make him bar none the top choice for me and my peers in the Los Angeles area.
Could not get a straight answer regarding many of my questions. Takes several follow up calls to get anything done. Lawyers are supposed to give you advice, unfortunaltly I have been doing most of my research online and seeking help for third parties. Beware of the bait and switch. His more experienced partner will be handeling your case and then before you know it your just dealing with this guy.
Mattew Lax appeared unprepared for our meeting that he set up. He did not answered to single question. I have asked again and again, over and over different questions. He had no answer. I asked him, why then he invited me to his office. His respond: "to get a retainer signed." I have never met, this guy, i do not know him or anything about him. Matthew Lax was unprepared. I asked him, are you going to discuss the case or advise at all? Again, he demanded retainer: " Retainer first". He have declared. Matthew waisted my time, as i drove close to an hour to meet this utterly disconnected, arrogant, very young attorney. He was demanding an retainer, commitment six minute into conversation. When i refused to sign He lost his temper. Now he was bullying me. I have never met an attorney, who would behave like that. There is certain expected conduct from attorneys. We do not expect to see someone losing a temper because client did not hired him on a spot. He was arrogant, insulting and literally pushed me out of the door.
There was no attention to details. I was told to sign paperwork which was not even reviewed by the attorney. Matthew is almost silent in the court room (deer in the headlights). Find someone willing to take a stand for Father's rights. Matthew is a paper pusher and does not think things through. He is a multi-tasker when he should be focused on your case. While it may be convenient to text, chat and bounce to other courtrooms for other cases, it leads to incompetence and lax performance. Servicing and billing several clients at the same time in the same court is not an acceptable practice. Focus on each client individually and maybe you can make a difference.

He very knowledgeable about the law and was able to gave me his opinion through his experience with the law and the courtroom.
