About

Mr. Dubois is the managing attorney at the Law Firm of Vogel & Dubois. His main areas of practice are planning for aging and retirement, LGBTQ and non-traditional family planning, Elder Law particularly public benefits law, family trusts, supplemental needs trusts and estate and succession planning. He became a lawyer and joined the firm as an associate in 2000. In 2004, he became a partner with Mr. Vogel and the firm was renamed Vogel & Dubois.Mr. Dubois is the past Chair of the Maine State Bar Association Elder Law Section, served for many years as Board President of the advocacy group EqualityMaine, and as a Director for SAGEMaine, AIDS Lodging House, and currently the Equality Community Center (ECC) in Portland. He completed his undergraduate B.A. at Northeastern University in Boston in 1994 and his J.D. at the University of Maine School of Law in Portland in 1999. His publications include: Maine Seniors Must Plan for Long-term Care (Senior News, SMAA, January-February 2012, page 21); Growing Old with a Lesbian or Gay Partner (American Bar Association, GP Solo Magazine, July 1, 2008); Legal Concerns of LGBT Elders, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Aging, Research and Clinical Perspectives (Kimmel, 2006); Elder Law: Answers for gay and lesbian elders (Maine Lawyers Review 2003); and Legal Planning for Gay, Lesbian, and Nontraditional Elders (Albany Law Review, 1999).
