About

Matt D. Ober brings to Richardson Harman Ober PC over two decades of extensive experience in common interest development law, residential and commercial real estate litigation, construction contracts and defect claims recovery, and general corporate and business law. Mr. Ober presides over the Firm’s highly regarded community association law practice, providing full service representation to common interest developments throughout Southern California. A native of Whittier, California, Mr. Ober obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles before obtaining his Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law. Mr. Ober has obtained an AV® Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review rating, reflecting the height of professional excellence and recognition for the highest levels of skill and integrity. He is licensed to practice before all California State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Ninth District Circuit Court of Appeals, and is a member of the California and Los Angeles County Bar Associations. Mr. Ober is a recognized leader, noted author, featured speaker and faculty member on all facets of the community association industry. He is an active supporter of and contributor to the Community Association industry through both the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). Mr. Ober is a member of the CAI National’s College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL). He is a contributing author of CAI’s California Law Course for Common Interest Development Managers. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter, and served two terms as President of CAI’s local chapter serving the Greater Inland Empire. He is an inductee to the organization’s Hall of Fame; recipient of the Chapter’s President’s award; and recipient of the Outstanding Service Award. He is also a three-term delegate to CAI’s California Legislative Action Committee and a member of CAI’s National Faculty as well as a member of CACM’s Faculty and Legal Steering Committee.
