About
A cum laude graduate of Temple University and a graduate of Widener University School of Law. I have been practicing law for over 25 years, serving my first six years as an Assistant Public Defender in the Philadelphia criminal courts. I am admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and was admitted to practice law in Maryland in 1997; District of Columbia in 1998 and New Jersey in 2001.After getting married I moved to the state of Maryland. Due to certain life circumstances my marriage ended and I returned home to the Philadelphia area. I left Maryland a single mother of two very young children, and like most separated parents, I was fearful of the prospects ahead of me.I am fully aware of the range of emotions associated with a divorce. Denial, shock, spite, fear and some desperation. These are normal emotions, but in time they do go away. If you truly know that your marriage is over, I am a firm believer in not staying in the marriage for the sake of the children. Children are very observant; they see and hear everything. You need to raise your children in a peaceful and loving home. You deserve to be happy and your children cannot be happy if you are not happy. Usually young children adjust to a divorce much better than the adults do. It's important to remember that two peaceful homes are better than one stressful home.Be assured, there is life after divorce. However, until you can get to this level of understanding, you need an experienced attorney who can relate to your individual situation and guide you through this emotional and trying process. Although understanding your situation, I will not let you use it as an excuse or crutch. I will not permit my men clients to withhold support monies as a means of revenge and I will not let my female clients use the children as bargaining chips. The goal is to get through this process as painlessly as possible and to protect your long-term interests, your children and your finances.Being happily divorced myself, I understand the need go to work every day since there is no longer two paycheck contributing to the family finances. I further understand that you cannot continuously take off from work to go to an appointment and that there may be child care issues for those stay at home parents during the weekday work hours. To accommodate your schedule or situation, I will provide evening and weekend appointments. As our professional relationship progresses, personal meetings may not be necessary and video conferencing (where you can remain in the convenience of your own home or office) may be a viable alternative.I am meticulous about my work and I enjoy the respect of the judges and my colleagues. I practice aggressive advocacy and am dedication to my clients. I represent an equal amount of both men and women. My client base is largely from referrals of prior clients and on many occasions I have had an opposing party refer me to family members and friends.

Best Family Lawyer !!! She explained me very well on my whole case and process on what can happen. She won my case and I am very Thankful to her and am hiring her again for my other problems. She definitely the best lawyer you can really count on that’s completely honest very polite and has so much expirence in family law. She is best and I will recommend her to anyone that is in need of family attorney. Thankyou so much MaryBeth !!!!
I have used Mary Beth Reinecker as my lawyer for almost 17 years. My divorce and custody were handled by Mary Beth and by no means was it a simple matter. During this time there were a bevy of PFA’s, Contempt’s and countless support matters. Through all of these Mary Beth fought hard to ensure that the just outcome prevailed. For a long period of time we were in court almost 3 times a week, we endured a 13 hour hearing and so many modifictions by the time all was said and done my file was about 10 inches thick. Over these 17 years my ex retained about 8 different lawyers and every time there was a new one they would start filing BS motions that had already been heard and dealt with. Through all of this Mary Beth was there for me and my children and with all of the other sides change in lawyers and all the court appearances we never lost one of them nor found in contempt, it was the exact opposite with each time having my custody strengthened and expanded. No hour was to late or to early to speak to her, Mary Beth has come to my home to review my case and prep for court when I wasn’t able to take off from work. She is the absolute best, and represented me as if I were a family member. To give her the best recommendation is the easiest thing, but it doesn’t seem enough! If you are trying to choose a lawyer stop right now because there is only 1 choice and that is Mary Beth Reinecker!
Mary Beth Reinecker , Esquire handled my very difficult divorce thoroughly. My divorce was contested and I went through a rollercoaster ride of issues. Mary Beth handled all my issues and also protected my interests. She is very knowledgeable about marital laws. Mary Beth always treated me with respect and dignity and was very understanding to my delicate issues. I highly recommend her services.
I went to an enforcement conference without an attorney thinking I wouldn't need one since I have a support order I followed and my ex didn't. My ex brought an attorney and seemed to disagree on everything. The officer scheduled a contempt hearing. Since his attorney was interpreting our support order in ways I never thought about I knew I needed a lawyer. I liked what mary beths reviews said and after my experience with her I agree with all of them- except the one person who said waste of money. Her retainer not only was reasonable- it was worth it. Ex was found in contempt, had to pay all the monies in a lump sum within 30 days AND, because he and his attorney tried to manipulate the support order so unreasonably, Mary Beth petitioned to have the support order modified to include the extras my ex was supposed to reimburse me for. The master agreed w Mary beth that my ex can't be relied upon to be cooperative, that it'd be unfair to make me deal with these scenarios in the future. Now ex has to pay the extras in the support order and I reimburse him! Plus her billing was incredibly reasonable. My last attorney billed me AT LEAST 10 additional hours for every hearing. Since Mary beth represented me in 2 hearings I assumed my retainer would be gone and I'd owe her. Our 2 hearings were only 3 weeks apart so I when I got mail from her I assumed it was a bill. It was a check for the difference in my retainer and her bill. She's the best you can do.
Just finished our custody case and very happy! Hired her based on prior reviews and they were right. She ALWAYS had time to answer my questions - which were many and never felt rushed and just genuinely cared! getting ready to post this And saw the bad review. Wow, that’s wrong! Your prob one those people who complain about everything. MaryBeth gave me option to research school info myself. Other lawyers would do it themselves and charge you hourly for this. Why pay an hourly price when it’s something able to should do anyhow and I️ know what type of schools my kids should be attending. Complaining about saving money... ok?!? I’m so grateful I️ had the option, other lawyers wouldn’t do this. Also appreciated a call at 8pm if she was checking on my case - rather that than being bothered at work. She is very conscience of your work schedule and works around you, not other way around , which was amazing. Don’t listen to that bad apple - they didn’t even leave a name!, prob just a bitter person . Mary Beth was always prepared and knew my case inside out. All the other reviews were accurate. You will be happy you hired her.
First of all- there is no such thing as a quicky divorce. Even if all you both want is a paper saying your divorced. I met Mary beth where all the paperwork gets handed in at the courthouse about 10 months after I started the process of ending my 8 month marraige. Me and my ex ended on good terms and just wanted a quicky divorce and we were trying to do it ourselves. Never try doing it yourself. It's a slow drawn out process with million steps. The process and paperwork is too complicated. Mary Beth came over to me while I was trying to figure out what had just been rejected and she offered to help me. She showed me where to sign, what to do next, gave me her card and said to call if I had any questions. I was nervous about calling her because I didn't think I could afford to hire her but when I got stuck again I had to and she helped me again. 2 months and 4 more phone calls later I hired her anyway. I was VERY surprised at her fee for a "quicky" divorce and wish I had hired her the day I met her. My divorce went very quick and smooth once she was my lawyer. I don't think there's such a thing as a quick divorce but the only way to get thru one as quick as the law allows is to get a lawyer and you won't find a lawyer more willing to help than mary beth. She was great. Thanks Mary!
My divorce/custody/support is more complicated than most. The two attorneys I retained prior to Mary Beth said they could handle my unique circumstances but they both failed miserably. I was worried I'd never find a lawyer who could get me thru to the end with a secure stable future for myself and my kids. Within minutes of my first sit down with Mary Beth I knew I was going to be better than fine. After going thru my case history she not only mapped out a plan for everything that was to follow, she explained how she would undo some of the damage that had already been done to my case. I have had 7 hearings with her, every time I came out better than I had hoped for or expected and it's all because she knows exactly what she's doing in every facet imaginable. She knew, and told me ahead of time, what each Master and Judge would be like, what my exs attorney is like, the tactics exs attorney would use and how I should respond/react to all of it. I've been thru a lot of hearings, having her prep me with that info was just as useful as prepping me for the case itself. My prior attorneys NEVER did anything like that. I've read and heard that your lawyer is not your friend-your lawyer is there to utilize the law in your best interest and that's it. Well Mary Beth figured out a way to be both. Imagine your BFF is a lawyer and is going to do your divorce- the talks you'd have about the case would be different than with some lawyer you don't know, there'd be more commitment, genuine concern, actual emotions expressed-like laughter, shock, sympathy, encouragement- instead of the cut n dry business only routine from a typical lawyer. THAT'S what it's like to have Mary Beth as an attorney. She is available 24/7 if I need her, she reviews my file often so she knows every detail by heart and to keep her own wheels turning. I read the review from anonymous (of course) who was unhappy that she will call in the middle of the night- I don't see how that's bad! I was never so impressed when she called me at 11pm one night because she found contradicting info in my file and wanted to straighten it out right away. That's MY case, my future she's working on! Im relieved she won't put everything on hold til morning and call me during business (aka billing) hours, but calls me to straighten it out and to get right back to working on my case!!! Another perk- she won't bleed you dry. Instead of charging me 3 hours to take paperwork downtown and get it marked recieved, she let me do it. Those late night calls that come from her reviewing my case, she doesn't charge me for those hours. I don't need to have a zero balance for her to stay dedicated either. After my retainer, as long as I continue to pay the agreed upon monthly bill, she remains committed to it all. If you need a copyright lawyer or a contract attorney- you could probably pick a name out of a hat and make out ok. But if you need a family law attorney then odds are your stressed and worried a lot. Any family law attorney can probably get you a settlement close to what you want, but Mary Beth will get you better than what you want AND her style of practice actually helps YOU get thru it all. Divorce and custody and support matters are emotionally difficult to plow thru. Don't pick an attorney that can get the job done but acts like a robot, pick an attorney who genuinely cares about what your going thru AND will get the job done better than you could hope for. Unfortunately there's only ONE lawyer like that in Philadelphia, Mary Beth Reinecker.
The Rocky Balboa of Philadelphia Attorney's!!!!!! I felt at ease as soon as I met her. She is very patient and listened to my life with my daughter, and my complex schedule. She had great advice, very attentive, easy to contact by phone, text, or office. Veryyyyyyy friendly and down to earth But when it was time for court.....her negotiation skills were stellar. So smooth and wise. She knows her law, and I'm sure the other lawyer is still trying to figure out what just happened!!! Lol. I tell everyone I got sooooo lucky having MaryBeth represent my case. Not only did we win, i got extra. I'm a single father of a little girl who thought men have no rights. MaryBeth made that theory disappear. From Family Court, to Child Support Court.....she was thier fighting for Me, my daughter and my rights!!!!! I'm more than happy!!!!!! I feel Blessed!!!!!! She's a technician in the court room. Great sense of humor, cares about you, your loved ones... she's a friend! But all business when it was show time. I still gotta laugh at the ease at how she ran circles around the opposing lawyer with knowledge and skill. I Thank You!!!! My daughter thanks you!!!!!! And I will always recommend you to who ever needs the Best Legal Attorney!!!!!!! A+++++
Mary Beth is an excellent attorney! She handled my divorce to perfection from beginning to end and she got me exactly what I wanted. Very professional, very hard working for her clients! Thank you Mary Beth for a job well done! I highly recommend her if you're in a divorce battle! A+++
I had a serious issue with custody of my child. I live out of state and my child lived in Philadelphia. I had so many questions and needed expert help. Mary Beth was awesome right from the start. She spent time with me by phone going over the details of my situation and offered excellent advice on how to handle the situation. By the time I got off the phone with her, I felt much better about the situation and hired her the next day. She handled everything for me, and everything was done perfectly. Mary Beth is not all about business, she actually CARES for her clients and their children. Now, I have custody of my child, and we can start a new better life for my child together. Thanks Mary Beth! I will highly recommend you to anyone!
