Ms. McLaughlin was very pleasant and friendly and helped tremendously with my case! My ex filed for divorce and I was unemployed with two children. I needed help, and quick! Ms. McLaughlin won at our Temporary Orders hearing and got me spousal support, child support and my husband had to pay my attorney's fees! The staff has always been very responsive and seemed very knowledgeable. I would recommend Ms. McLaughlin to all of my friends and family. She even has payment plans and works with you. Most attorneys ask for an initial retainer of $5,000 for a custody case! I paid much less and was able to make payments!
From day one that i went into her office-they answered all questions-took her time in listening, staff is wonderful- they treat you as if you were a family member-gave you good advice and tried to help in any way they could, VERY supportive.Every time i had a question they responded promptly. They started on my case the same day i had my consult upon hiring her. My divorce went well after hiring her, i pretty much got everything i wanted. i would highly recommend her.
Initial consultation she was not prepared to discuss case yet charged anyway. Charged for parking and mailing when I’ve never been to office or received any mailings from her except refund which she charged $75.00 to mail me a check. The administrative fees were not fully explained. She’s a difficult person to work with bc she likes to tell you what to do. A lawyer is only as good as you can steer them in your divorce, know the LAW!!!
I paid for an uncontested divorce. The firm issued a waiver for my spouse to sign. But, the language was so inflammatory that no one should sign it. We had no assets, no property and no children. We agreed to change the language. Next, the firm tried to change the divorce to contested because we agreed to change the harmful language they tried to coerce us into signing. This firm charged me fees and the whole time they were trying to force me into a contested divorce.
She nickled and dimed me for even a thank you text! She withheld my divorce settlement for months trying to figure out how to withdraw funds! She did not have me and my daughters best interest at heart like she said! She is an awful attorney and i would not recommend her!
I hired this attorney paid the fees while we discussed the divorce in the initial appointment she made promises to handle my case. I thought this would be a great partnership and best resolution to my situation. So of course I had to go to the office myself to seek my court date. Upon finding out my court date I asked to see if the other party had been served and to my surprise it had not been done but we were to be in court in 7 days. I went to court this morning and again to my surprise no lawyer not even the other party was present. So I proceeded to notify my lawyer and after being placed on hold for 6-7 minutes she came on the phone apologizing that they changed the court date for the end of the month. So this lawyer and her staff lack communication and professionalism. A lawyer should never tell the client if "they want to take this outside" I dont recommend her at all. Im out 1200.00 just for filing and a non refundable fee two charges for the office visit but dont know where to other 300.00 non refundable fee is for.
