She served as a law clerk for the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas with Judge Linda Wallach Miller and worked as an associate and partner with several well-respected Stroudsburg law firms before establishing the firm of Mary Louise Parker and Associates. Attorney Parker is admitted to practice before all courts of common pleas in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania’s appellate courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. She served for 10 years as a Monroe County child custody conciliator, from February 2005 through April 2015. Attorney Parker is trained in collaborative divorce practice and family law mediation.For over three decades, Attorney Parker has been representing members of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Community in matters of family law. She has extensive experience in divorce, child custody and support matters and has successfully represented clients in Monroe, Northampton, Carbon, Lehigh and Pike Counties. Attorney Parker is sensitive to the devastating emotional and financial effects of family disputes and represents her clients with patience, understanding, compassion and professionalism. She values the importance of communication with her clients in order to build mutual trust and respect. Attorney Parker is also trained in family law mediation and collaborative divorce and served Monroe County as a court appointed child custody conciliator for over 10 years during which time she assisted families in the resolution of high conflict custody cases.Mrs. Parker is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association having served as an officer and member of the Board of Trustees from 1993 to 2004 and its president in the years 2002 and 2003. Through efforts with other members of the Bar Association, Mrs. Parker was instrumental in setting up a lawyer referral service in 1999, which continues to assist Monroe County residents in obtaining legal representation and counsel. She helped to form the Monroe County Bar Foundation, a 5013C Corporation which serves as a charitable giving arm of the Bar Association and directs its fundraising toward projects and activities designed to improve the lives of Monroe County children. Currently, Mrs. Parker chairs the Monroe County Domestic Relations Rules Committee and is working with members of the Bench and Bar to revise local rules of court applicable in custody, divorce and support matters. She is also a member of the Monroe County Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation Committee and Collaborative Family Law Committee. She recently joined the Children’s Advocacy Centers Continuing Legal Education Planning Subcommittee and will be presenting to members of the Bar Association in July 2018. Mrs. Parker is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and its Commission on Women in the Profession and the Collaborative Practice Committee, serving as co-chairperson of the Education Subcommittee. She also belongs to the International Association of Collaborative Practitioners.In addition to her Bar Association activities, Mrs. Parker has devoted considerable time to community service. She served on the County Commission for Library Planning Services and has been both a member and President of the Monroe County Library Board of Trustees. Mrs. Parker has also been a member of the Stroudsburg Planning Commission, Stroudsburg Zoning Hearing Board and the Monroe County Easter Seals Board of Directors. She has served on the Boards of Directors of Women’s Resources of Monroe County and as the President of the Pocono Arts Council.Currently, Mrs. Parker sits as a member of the Advisory Board for Northampton Community College, Monroe Campus and as a member of Northampton Community College’s Advisory Committee for Paralegal Studies. She also serves on the board of Directors of Support Services for Seniors of Monroe County, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of older adults by providing services that enable older adults to attain or maintain independence. Mrs. Parker is also a member of the Stroudsburg Rotary Club.Mrs. Parker is married to John H. Parker, Jr. and has two sons, Adam and Josh. She and the members of her family belong to St Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg. She and John reside in Sciota, Pennsylvania.
