He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History at Boston College and a Master of Arts in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University. Prior to starting Mitcheson Viana LLP, Mark was an associate at William Maaia and Associates and focused primarily on telecommunication work such as retransmission consent agreements. Mark also worked as a judicial intern with the Honorable Joan N. Feeney of the United States Bankruptcy Court - District of Massachusetts and as an intern with the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.In addition to law, Mark has provided foreign language consulting services in the to telecommunications giant Nuance Communications and in the management consulting areas. Mark is fluent Portuguese, Spanish and French and has extensive travel and cultural experience in countries such as Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and France. In addition he has close ties with the Portuguese-speaking communities of in Boston and surrounding suburbs of Framingham, Woburn, Sommerville, Cambridge and Watertown.
