I was referred to Mark Tseselsky by an attorney friend. In the midst of my crisis case. Mark was there for me. He was knowledgeable, professional, honest and treated me with respect and understanding. Not only was my case resolved and his hourly billing was more than fair. He also went above and beyond to provide me with helpful tips. He made sure I was informed of all matters and made excellent suggestions in dealing with my case. I hope I don't have to retain a family lawyer again, but , if I do, it will be Mark Tseselsky.

Mark's understanding of his practice niche is exceptional; but he also knows all of the players - from judges to city attorneys to consultants. Once he listened to the issue we were having, he was able to guide us through the process, getting out in front of the issue so that when we were in discussions with city/county officials, not only were we prepared, but we were able to satisfy their interests, thus avoiding bigger problems. He's also very good at managing expectations and presenting your downside. We would highly recommend him.

Mark was incredibly helpful to us and helped us side step a lot of issues that would have otherwise proved both expensive and traumatic for ourselves and a child we were asked to foster. His involvement proved helpful not just to us but to the child and their parent. Having him step in made everyone in the system start playing by the rules that are supposed to govern how foster care issues are addressed and resolved.

Mark's advise was on the spot, free and prompt. I left a message to him at 10:30 pm and he called me at 7:00 am the next day. He explained to me what the authority was looking for. With his completely free advise during an initial consultation, we not only resolved our case, but we also saved 100's of $'s in attorney fees, kept the family together and not have to go through unnecessary engagements from DCPS. Not once, he tried to scare me in hiring his services. Great guy to work with.

I found Mark here on Avvo under what seemed to be an awful situation with DCFS. I spoke with him on the phone and met him in person two hours later. His office was no frills like the man himself. Although he said his fee had changed, he honored his promise of a free 60 minute consultation that was originally advertised on Avvo. In 60 minutes, he managed to diagnose my situation like a surgeon, told me what my real priorities should be, and then quickly referred me to his buddy who specializes in criminal defense. I ended up hiring his buddy later that day, while Mark was actually acting against his own financial interest! Fast forward 2 months, and Mark's advice and referral has paid off. I trusted the reviews here, and the reviews are right. I will definitely recommend him if anyone I know is ever unfortunate enough to be involved with DCFS.

Mark Tseselsky was recommended to me by a lawyer friend, when my ex husband and I disagreed about medical treatment for our son. I was seeking sole legal custody to make medical decisions based on obstructive behavior. Mark treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. He listened and advised based on my personal circumstance and desired outcome. He never tried to push me into a lengthy protracted legal fight, but prepared me for the eventuality. Not only was my case resolved harmoniously and quickly, his hourly billing was more than fair. I hope I don't have to retain a family lawyer again, but, if I do, it will be Mark Tseselsky.

League of his own!!! 15 out of 5 stars!!! Does NOT MAKE EMPTY PROMISES yet DELIVERS MIRACLES!!!! After switching attorneys and doing mountains of research I could not have been better rewarded then finding Mark Tseselsky. Child Protective Services is a niche system, not governed by familiar concepts such as "burden of proof" or "innocent until proven guilty". A mere anonymous allegation, misunderstanding or a possibility of risk is enough to forcibly remove a child from family. Time frame of reunification is between nine months to a year and a half. Mark Tseselsky has years of experience masterfully navigating children's court. Knowledge of psychology, deep understanding of how DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) functions, comprehension of cultural differences combined with years of experience is what sets mr. Tseselsky apart and creates a unique ally. Mark compassionately, free of judgement explains to the panicked family how the situation occurred and what steps are necessary to resolve it. CPS workers have their own "language". Mark Tseselsky patiently unveils hidden meaning's of seemingly innocent questions, repercussions of declining services that are presented as "volunteer" or "helpful", importance of testing, counseling, etc. Mark Tseselsky meticulously cipher's through family history, interviews, facts and accounts of what happened. Prepares the whole family. Guides each member on how to "speak" CPS. Foresees all detail's that are potentially harmful. Correcting overall demeanor including physical appearance, tone of voice, body language during interviews and court hearings. Moving on to caution against certain words and phrasing that may be twisted. Highlighting how to fine tune your home to very specific CPS expectations. What social worker looks for in a stocked refrigerator/kitchen cabinets, child's room, bed, bathroom, etc. My situation was particularly difficult, estranged from before birth biological father got involved and saw the child as an opportunity for a "meal ticket". Multiple high priced attorneys double and triple Marks retainer advised me to prepare for 3-5 years of legal battle. Predicting my case will be spread over multiple US states and both CPS and Family courts, not to mention a bill to fit that battle. Even though my son was sent out of state, Mark Tseselsky was able to keep the case in CA jurisdiction, prevent it from going to family court, keep the bill a fraction of what I was quoted by others and reunite me with my son in 5 months. Thank you Mark for all your amazing work and being an integral part of keeping our family together!

Mark is a wonderful attorney. Very patiently answers all your questions. He helped me sort thru all the complicated stuff in my divorce. He dedicates a lot of time and makes sure that every case has the best outcome possible. He is very knowledgeable. Mark was reasonable about his billing. He had a long term strategy to get my ex to settle. It took about a year long than I would have liked. But the strategy worked in the end.
