I applied for SSDI and I did successfully get SSDI for a limited amount of time, as I was disabled for a little over a year. I did not know this was an option, and would have just dropped my claim if he had not informed me of this option. My only issue was I did not know that SSDI had a five month waiting period, so I didn't know my benefits would be cut by that amount. I did not learn that until after I won the appeal.
