Mark joined Coy, Gilbert, Shepherd & Wilson when the firm was still called Coy, Gilbert & Gilbert as a clerk in 1990. He then became an associate attorney in 1991 and a partner in 1994. Mark manages Coy, Gilbert, Shepherd & Wilson and focuses his practice in the areas of real estate, banking, and business. He is a native of Cumberland, Kentucky and moved to Richmond, Kentucky to attend Eastern Kentucky University as a Regent's Scholar. Mark received his Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1991. Mark's real estate practice has involved him in the development of many residential and commercial projects in and around Madison County, Kentucky. During most of his career Mark has worked with his partner, JT Gilbert, in representing Peoples Bank and Trust Company of Madison County. He has also worked with many other companies and businesses, including Saver Group Inc. (a company engaged in the operation of Save-A-Lot grocery stores in five states). In addition, Mark is engaged in the private development of commercial projects including Baptist Health on Meridian Way in Richmond, Kentucky. For the last 10 years, Mark has been the City of Richmond's Alcohol Beverage Control Administrator. He was a member of the board for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, is a member of the University of Kentucky College of Law Lafferty Society, and is a University of Kentucky Fellow. Mark has also taught in the paralegal program at Eastern Kentucky University and provides pro bono representation to civic and charitable organizations.
