Mark was retained to help our non-profit, tax-exempt organization manage a property tax dispute with a local government agency in which our organization was incorrectly charged a tax bill of over $50,000. Unfortunately, the issue had been mismanaged by previous administrators in our organization, so Mark was faced with a difficult situation that was several years old and required significant research. Mark found out that because of our organization's delay in dealing with the tax bill, the statute of limitations/appeals period had lapsed; however, he continued his exhaustive research, looking for any precedent that might give us a way to appeal the bill outside of the statutory appeals period. I am MOST impressed with this lawyer, as out of THREE responses, he's the only one who said my Trust would hold up, as long as there aren't any mitigating instances. Every other one has tried to convince me to "consult" with an attorney - obviously them to drum up work?? There will be no contest to the Family Trust, as my husband's residence is still in CA. For my personal trust, he is the Co-Trustee. I know this from being a Paralegal in CA. I will eventually have a new one done, just to clean up some stuff - I've had changes in my Executors, as a couple have died. So, I WILL clean it up - and will go to this gentlemen because he isn't full of it.
