About

I taught at Lewis & Clark Law School for 28 years, primarily clinical education at the Lewis and Clark Legal Clinic.  Upper division law students learned the essential lawyering skills by representing clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.  My focus was on residential landlord and tenant matters, primarily evictions.  Legal Clinic also satisfied the Law School's legal ethics course requirment, with ethics being taught prevasively and in the classroom.       I served as the program planner (and an author and presenter) for the two Oregon Law Institute continuing legal education programs focusing on landlord and tenant law.  I have also been an author and presenter on the subject of judgments at three OLI programs.       I continue to serve as the Executive Director of the Oregon Council on Court Procedures, the state agency charged with writing and updating the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure.     Prior to coming to the Law School, for ten years I was a legal aid attorney in Illinois and Oregon.
