Smith.  In his first few year of practicing criminal defense, Mark got unbelievable experience.  Mark was lead counsel on at least one felony trial per month during his first two years.  Additionally, within two years Mark was lead counsel for several homicide cases.  During Mark’s first three years Mark won over 20 felony trials and got many more felonies dismissed.  A sample of the cases Mark won during his first three years is: MURDER; AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (Knife); CHILD ABUSE; AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (Baseball bat); RESISTING ARREST; AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (on Police officer); BURGLARY; AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (serious physical injury); AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (stabbing); AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (knife slashing); THEFT OF MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION; GRAND THEFT AUTO; AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (gun).  The list goes on and on.In 1999 Mark started his own criminal defense firm.  However within a year or two Mark joined up with Chad Shell to start one of the best and most successful criminal defense firms in Arizona.  Mark and Chad are partners to this day and have successfully represented thousands of clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors all across the state of Arizona.  They have represented clients in Kingman, Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona, Prescott Valley, Glendale, Peoria, Tucson, Casa Grande, Florence, Globe, Show Low, Pinetop, Verde Valley, Yuma, Avondale, Litchfield, Tolleson, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Apache Junction, Payson, Wickenburg, Gila Bend, Winslow, Cave Creek, Queen Creek, and others.Between Chad Shell and Mark the state of Arizona has dismissed more than 900 domestic violence cases alone.  The state of Arizona has dismissed other cases because of Shell & Nermyr ranging from murder, attempted murder, sex assault, aggravated assault, assault, criminal damage, disorderly conduct, misconduct involving weapons, child abuse, kidnapping.  This list also goes on and on. Shell & Nermyr PLLC is the East Valley`s preeminent criminal defense firm.  Any law firm can go to court and have their clients plead guilty.  But Arizona`s team of criminal defense attorneys goes to court and wins for their clients.

If you have found yourself in any sort of legal trouble, please take the time to read this-- you will not regret it. I was charged with a very serious criminal offense in 2014. Despite our feeling that no crime had been committed, the charge still had the potential to destroy the life that I had built with my wife and family and my future. I initially consulted with and hired a different attorney shortly after my arrest to handle the case (not Mr. Nermyr). Things started off poorly and unfortunately, they did not get better over time. Communication was severely lacking, punctuality was an issue on many occasions, and due to my previous attorney taking a vacation, we missed the only opportunity for a Grand Jury remand-- which we have been advised, may have ended the case based on the facts involved. From that point forward we got caught up in the system and seemingly endless hearings and delays. Our attorney seemed powerless and in over their head. We tried several different routes to plead our case prior to trial, but could not gain any traction with the State and we felt, for lack of better words, totally unprotected. After over 2 years of zero progress, we were emotionally tapped, financially drained and running out of hope. It was at that point that a very close personal friend recommended that I speak to Mr. Nermyr about my case-- and I could not be more grateful for that. From the moment I met Mark Nermyr and his associate, Al Morrison, I felt like I had found the best. He took the time to completely understand my case and from that point forward I felt totally protected. The dynamic and breadth of knowledge between these two gentlemen was unreal. They immediately went to work getting to the core issues of the State's case and the strengths of ours. It did not take long for them to formulate a strategy that would ultimately lead to the first real movement in over 2 years on the State's part. The first hearing with Mr. Morrison, Mr. Nermyr, and Mr Shell was pretty incredible. They arrived early and were ready and waiting when we arrived. When we walked into the courtroom they commanded respect like we had not experienced with our previous attorney, all while being incredibly professional and prepared. That was the first time since the arrest that I had felt truly represented and hopeful that we could achieve a positive outcome. The meetings and hearings following were equally as impressive. Mr. Nermyr continued to analyze, research and adjust strategy accordingly to put us in the best possible position. The communication with Mark was always on point and he always gave me his undivided attention and treated me with total respect. Within just a few short months, and nearing the trial date, Mr. Nermyr and Mr. Morrison drafted and submitted a powerful motion that changed the course and outcome of the case. The motion opened up the opportunity for a dismissal or possible acquittal at trial and/or acted as a strong negotiating tool for a favorable plea offer. Options are few and far between when facing the justice system-- and Mark Nermyr did what seemed impossible-- his diligence and thorough understanding of the law and how it applied to my case gave me multiple, solid options and all of the information necessary to make the right decision for me and my family. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to Mr. Nermyr and his team. He, against all odds, gave me my life and dignity back, my kids their Dad back, my wife her husband back and orchestrated a defense that will allow me to move past this in the near future. I do not anticipate needing his services again in the future, and I certainly hope that none of my friends or family run into any legal issues-- but if they do, I will without hesitation recommend Mr. Nermyr. I highly recommend Mark Nermyr if you find yourself in need of excellent representation for a criminal matter in AZ-- You will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately like a some people at some point in time they need an attorney and I needed a criminal defense attorney for my issues. I had met Mark during my issues and was immediately set as ease with my situation. Mark explained everything to me the entire time and worked very hard for me. Having a knowledgeable attorney and someone that actually cares is rare but with Mark you definitely get both, I would recommend him to anyone. Even after my issue was completely over with, he continued to take time out of his day and work schedule to help me and answer any other questions I had relating to other situations.

Mark Nermyr represented me on a 2016 misdemeanor charge (criminal damage). I found out about the charge on a Sunday and Mark was answering his phone. He spoke with me and set a consultation meeting for the next day. The charge took 4 months to come to trial. During that time, Mark was always available to me whether it was an in-office meeting, or a telephone call, email or text. That included when he was out of town on other cases. Mark does not 'hide' behind administrative staff or paralegals. He never watched the clock in our meetings or rushed me along in any way. Mark is outstanding from other lawyers in that he listens carefully to you and he does not interrupt. Mark's fees are reasonable and he spread them out over 90 days. The Shell & Nermyr contract I signed was short, to the point, and easy to understand. Mark has a paralegal who was polite and helpful in getting documents and evidence to me on a timely and efficient basis. Mark is an excellent negotiator. He knows both the legal system and the lawyers and judges applying the law to his clients. I asked him to prioritize the risks involved in a negotiated settlement versus a trial with possible innocent/guilty verdicts. This gave me the information I needed to make the best possible decision for me and family. Mark came to court prepared for anything and it was a good thing he did because there were a couple of 'surprises' that he was able to respond to immediately. Because of Mark's legal expertise and experience, and his tenacity, minutes prior to my appearing in trial the charge was dismissed with prejudice, meaning the charge can never be resurrected against me; its truly over.

Mark Nermyr of Shell & Nermyr is one of the best criminal attorneys in Arizona. He takes his cases as seriously as his clients do. Mark represented me for a case that lingered for a few years. He always kept me informed. He was even able to find out things for me on another matter being handled by a less responsive attorney. I was very pleased with the results Mark was able to obtain for me. I would highly recommend him if you find yourself in need of legal representation in a criminal matter.

While I am sure Mr. Nermyr has had bigger cases this one had larger implications due to the fact that I am in the military. He treated my case with how I was treating it and my family really appreciated that as there was so much at stake. I never thought I would be in the situation I was placed in while in Phoenix but I am sure glad I became friends with Mr. Nermyr and he took the time to represent me. His knowledge and experience was noticeable while in court and the jurors noticed his experience.

Mark is the best. He got my son's case completely dismissed. I spoke with several lawyers that were all pessimistic about his chances. When I spoke with Mark I knew he would do everything he could for us. While the other lawyers thought we had no chance of winning, Mark was creative and aggressive and in the end all the charges were dismissed. If anybody needs a lawyer I will send them your way Mark. Thank you Mark!

Mr. Nermyr represented me and he got me a great result. What was fantastic was the fact he was so easy to reach whenever we had a questions. Also he explained everything so that there weren't any surprises. I would recommend Mark Nermyr to anybody that needs a criminal defense lawyer.

Mark has become a friend to the family now. I can always count on him for not only legal advice but advice about life. I can call him when ever needed and know that he will help no matter how big or small the situation.
