Mark handled our divorce quickly and efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach throughout the process. His counsel on all matters was very much appreciated and all questions and concerns were addressed in a straightforward and professional manner. I would recommend Mark without hesitation to anyone contemplating Divorce.
Mark did a great job getting my divorce finalized in under 4 months. It was important to be final in 2018 and Mark got it done. My now ex wife of 10 years and I agreed to use one attorney and that was Mark. He represented me and she was the Pro se... it only worked because Mark was great at explaining the details in a direct but calm and unbiased way. In other words She had to feel comfortable and she did.
I hired Mark to help me terminate maintenance as my ex had a live boyfriend. We were thrown a few curves along the way, but Mark was successful in getting her to present us with a proposal. Mark made a few modifications to her proposal and a deal was struck. As a result I have now cut off all contact with her and sleep peacefully at night. From what I was able to observe, Mark knows the law; he has the respect of other attorneys and the judge; and he takes a practical approach to getting the case settled. The best compliment I can give Mark is that soon my ex will be referring her friends to him.
As a father who wanted 50-50 custody of my daughter, not everyone believed that this was a viable outcome (including the mediator). Mark Farrow not only believed it, he made it a reality. Mark not only knows the law, he has extensive courtroom experience with the judges in DuPage County. During the many times when my ex-wife initiated additional legal proceedings, Mark was able to swiftly and adeptly handle and predict the outcome so that the matter was resolved in my favor...and in turn in the best interests of my daughter.
It's hard to know where to begin, when someone has done so much for you. Initially, I thought my divorce would be fairly quick and straightforward. That quickly devolved into a complete circus, complicated by custody and financial complexities. Mark did not skip a beat. He was level-headed in the most tense of situations (when even opposing counsel was expressing frustration). He is driven by unquestionable understanding of legal theory, expert knowledge of the case law, strategic acumen and breadth of experience (right down to insights on specific judges). Now matter how much the opposing side tried to distract the process with unsubstantiated claims and non-relevant information, Mark kept everything in perspective, bringing my worry level down and focusing on the facts, the law and the potential outcomes. He simplified when I needed clarification and indulged when I wanted greater understanding of the statutes, the case law or even his personal experience. When my ex-wife was racking up fees, engaging her counsel for every small thing, Mark handled it all as if he was simply eating his lunch. He did not waste time and resources chasing irrelevant minutiae. He communicated and provided direction when needed, and I did the same. It was one of the best professional relationships I have experienced in any context. Steve Jobs once said "I don't hire smart people to tell them what to do. I hire them so they can tell ME what to do." If Jobs had ever met Mark, he would still be enshrined in a glass office at Apple headquarters. Divorce sucks. It doesn't matter what the situation is, everybody loses. If you're looking for someone who will guide you through a complicated process toward the best outcome possible for you, Mark is your guy.
I've received consultations from Mark over the last 8 years. My only regret is that I hadn't met him 8 years earlier! Mark has always been a straight shooter - given me every option available, given me sound advice and steered me away from making poor decisions in which direction to take my case. Recently Mark gave me the best news I've heard in 16 years, related to my case! I'm very appreciative for all of the honest advice and guidance Mark has given me. If I had to go through this all again, I'd have Mark by my side.
I first went to Mark for my divorce back in 2005, and have returned to him for additional child support issues multiple times. Mark is professional, yet compassionate. He is honest about your situation, fights for your rights, has a wealth of knowledge, and has a wonderful support staff. You know he has your back when he represents you in court and I trust his advise. When people make a disparaging remark about "lawyers", I always say they need to meet mine - he's a great lawyer and a generous man who has gone above and beyond for our case. He's been a God-send for my kids and me. I would highly recommend him.
Mark provides comprehensive legal representation throughout the entire process. As a physician with little knowledge of the divorce process, Mark took his time educating me and preparing me in what was my first exposure to the legal system. My case involved 4 young children, serious medical illness, multiple marital properties going into foreclosure, and a corporate partnership to protect. Mark's advice helped me to avoid needlessly prolonging the case, ultimately saving me time and money so I could move on with life. I have recommended Mark to other physician partners who agree that he is one of the sharpest lawyers in his specialty. He has the uncanny ability to anticipate what's needed at trial or what to present before the judge to optimize our position. He has certainly guided me through a complicated and difficult time.
I retained Mark to represent me in my divorce prior to my divorce becoming extremely negative. Mark exemplified professionalism and provided a realistic analysis of my situation. My ex argued against everything ignoring the Judge's recommendation in the pre-trial conferences. My ex moved for the appointment of an Evaluator, and then ignored and criticized her recommendations regarding the custody of my 3 children. He threatened to take my children and exhaust our limited financials. He then forced a trial which lasted approximately 25 hours. Mark knew the facts and the law inside and out as well as business matters that became issues at trial. He efficiently and effectively represented me and worked with me to attain a just result. Judgement in my favor granted me sole custody of my three children despite the fact that I did not ask for sole custody. Mark cares about his clients and the outcomes of their cases. He can negotiate settlements and he can be your advocate in Court. He is an all around, knowledgable, experienced and professional practitioner of family law.
I don't have enough superlatives at my fingertips to fully describe the outstanding job this man did in getting me successfully through my divorce. Mark Farrow was masterful in obtaining agreement and closure from my hostile ex-spouse and her, in my opinion, ethically-challenged counsel. Mark has a command of the process and nuances of divorce law that you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in this area. His skillful application of his craft while still managing to be an honest and ethical human being instilled me with confidence and a constant sense of comfort in knowing I was in the best and most capable hands. He provided the thought leadership throughout the process and negotiations, and was able to forge a very favorable agreement for me that also meant avoiding a messy and protracted trial. It was important to me in selecting a divorce attorney that he or she was not only highly-regarded and very experienced in their field, but that they shared the values that are important to me. Mark proved very quickly that he could tell the truth in a very straightforward fashion, provide me with options and help me analyze the possibilities, and drive what is a difficult and emotional life event to a successful conclusion. In the process, it became clear that he is the consummate professional, a fine family man, and an upstanding member of our community. After all was said and done, I consider him a good friend, and I strongly and wholeheartedly recommend Mark to anyone that needs assistance in navigating the areas of divorce and/or family law.
