Currently represent the Utah Department of Transportation in eminent domain litigation and related property acquisition matters (April 2005 to present). State Agency Counsel Division (July 2000 to October 2013) Supervised Agency & Public Laws Section from April 2005 to June 2006 (four lawyers and one paralegal). Served as lead counsel in Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement litigation from July 2005 through June 2006 ($32 million in dispute). Advised and represented the following agencies from August 2000 through June 2006: Utah Department of Transportation (outdoor advertising and passenger ropeway safety matters); State Records Committee; Department of Administrative Services, Divisions of Archives, Finance, Fleet Operations and Administrative Rules; Department of Technology Services; Chief Information Officer’s Office, State Treasurer (unclaimed property matters); Department of Workforce Services; Utah National Guard (until June 2005); Lieutenant Governor’s Office (local government election matters) and various other agencies that needed legal advice on computer and technology issues. Participated on the Civil Review Committee to screen and manage citizen complaints regarding allegations of government corruption. Criminal Division, Prosecution Council (July 1995 - July 2000)Wrote, negotiated and managed statewide contract to purchase and distribute case management software to public attorneys throughout the state of Utah. Supervised two technicians and managed federal criminal history and Violence Against Women Act grants totaling approximately $330,000. Represented the Governor in extradition litigation. Prosecuted a few methamphetamine cases.
