Mark Edward Bohe (also known as Mark E. Bohe and Mark Bohe) is a retired attorney living in Denver, CO who practiced law for over 35 years and mainly specialized in tax, accounting and business law. Before his October 2017 retirement, Mark was a licensed attorney in the states of Colorado (May 19, 1982 – December 21, 2017), Washington (June 5, 1989 – December 13, 2017), and California (June 10, 1991 – July 13, 2018).Past governmental positions Mark held include Rules Administrator, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Austin, Texas (January 1, 2017 – September 5, 2017); Tax Policy Specialist, Interpretations & Technical Advice Division, for the Washington State Department of Revenue, Olympia and Tumwater, WA (February 21, 2006 – October 18, 2016); Director & Lead Attorney, Office of Legal Counsel, Yakama Nation, Toppenish, WA (2001 – 2002); Attorney for Hoopa Valley Development Enterprise and Hoopa Forest Industries, tribally chartered entities of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, Hoopa, CA (1990 – 1998); Office of Chief Counsel, Department of Treasury, District Counsel’s Office, Internal Revenue Service and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for Taxation & Bankruptcy, Oklahoma City and Seattle (January 6, 1985 – November 24, 1989).Before his retirement, Mark was a member of Washington State Bar Association (including the Tax Section), Colorado Bar Association, Bar of the State of California, Thurston County Bar Association, and King County Bar Association (Co-Chair, Tax Section, 1994 – 1995).While mainly a government attorney, Mark worked in private practice at 1200 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA practicing in tax controversy, middle-class bankruptcy and tribal enterprise development in the 1990s that ended in 1999. In Spokane, WA from 2003 to 2005 Mark renovated and rented quality low-income residential houses, represented Yakama Nations Legends Casino and using his legal skills facilitated for two Spokane Churches with a Partner Church in Felsorakos, Romania an EU Clean Water Grant and a conflict reducing and development increasing village-wide assessment process for Felsorakos assisted by the Unitarian Universalist Partner Church Council.Some of Mark’s authored publications include “Washington Business Tax” (January 1, 1996), “Reducing Conflict, Increasing Development: A Case Study of Felsorakos in the Haromszek Region, Transylvania” Mark co-authored with Richard B.
