Marianne handled both my divorces. She treated me as if I were her family. She educated me thoroughly so that I would make educated decisions. She toughened me when I needed it and focused me when I was too emotional. She made sure that I was clear on everything and was fair all around. Marianne is about the family in her practice and does not lose focus of that.
After getting basically ripped off by another law firm for a basic no-contest divorce, Marianne took my case and got me results for power of attorney- FAST!! She knows the law and empowered me every step of the way. She's down to earth and made me comfortable in having picked her, I just wished I hired her before the first law firm, but a lesson learned here. I do & will always recommend Marianne Rebel Brown to everyone I know and if you are reading this, please take this to heart...you will not be sorry when she's on board and on your side. She DID NOT slam me with high fees which is always great during a divorce!! She was listed next to alot of attorneys in NJ, but for some reason I chose her & will always be greatful for whatever the reason was that brought her into my life- THANK YOU MARIANNE!!!!
Admittedly this was MANY years ago but I sought out Marianne trying to find out how the divorce laws worked, and what kind of income/support I could get, since my kids were still little. She brushed past all that, after I told her my sad, sad, story, and said, you don't really seem like you want to break up this marriage. Which was absolutely true, I just wasn't willing to admit it. My point is, she never took dime one from me, and gave me lots of good informatioh. I probably used up about ah hour and a half of her time. And yes, I did finally leave the marriage, but it was probably 25 years after that visit!
I recently employed Marianne to review and draft several contracts for my Music Production Company. Her expertise and network of professionals proved great success for me and my company. In addition to working with my LLC, I also utilize Marianne for my personal Legal Services and Realtor Services.
She screamed in a family court that I was “dangerous” refusing to give one example of why I was. She then instructed my sons father to keep his health insurance cards and stop my son from getting a doctor for a year. Furthermore, she said they needed to pick Liam up (for the first time in 4 years) at a police station. The judge was disgusted by this and told that is never appropriate. Multiple times the judge had to tell her she was making the situation worse. Please everyone who has had these awful interactions with this women file your complaints at the following link. Ironically, the only dangerous one is her. https://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/attorneys/oae.html
When my 6yo daughter was kidnapped by her transient father, who had left her in the care of known child molesters during his last period of homelessness, at the beginning of the COVID19 quarantine in 2020, and I spent months trying to regain stable contact with and access to my child, I found Marianne through a referral hotline. During the consultation, Marianne was empathetic and patient, taking her time with me. I felt supported and like I could trust her Soon after I signed the retainer, however, the tone changed. Marianne was always too busy consulting with new clients to communicate with me. Documents I submitted went unacknowledged and got lost. Requests for basic documentation, like a complet copy of the complaint filed on my behalf, from Marianne went unacknowledged. We would discuss a filing, confirm what was going into it, and them, when I received a draft of the filing, it was not as discussed. Marianne would fail to connect with me for weeks before court dates, up to and including the date of. When I woule call my court dates to her attention, she would schedule a last minute TC during a tie when I was court ordered to be on a video call with my child. Marianne would show up and perform in court as if she was not familiar with basic details of my case. When I dared to call this to Marianne's attention, I was told I was being too demanding and I would be charged for every correspondence. I asked if concerns over cost was the reason I was not receiving timely correspondence, and Marianne suggested I find a new attorney. Ultimately, I went pro se and obtained an FRO that enabled both law enforcement and the courts to take control of the custody situation. None of this fit into Marianne's strategy, and, honestly, I could have spared my children and myself months of trauma had I never retained Marianne, and, instead, followed my own instincts. Marianne did nothing but foster fear. Today, more than a year after I dismissed Marianne, I was contacted by phone about a bill. Rebel Brown staff confirmed my contact information, which has not changed, and, for the first time, sent me a bill totalling more than $10,000. When I asked why it has taken a year for them to reach out to me with the itemization, Meg responded sarcastically, "Well, I don't know if you heard, but there has been this thing called a pandemic going on." I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I'm getting tired of that excuse. Other businesses didn't fall a year plus behind on the books.
