Attorney Brown represented our son in a disciplinary case resulting from a verbal exchange incident in a class in school. She facilitated the communication between us and the school management which enabled us to present part of the truth that were not known to the school and assisted us with presenting our views on the issue, all in a conciliatory and professional manner . Moreover, she helped us deepen our understanding of the school environment and school- related legal environment. Her wonderful support, both at legal and personal level, resulted in the best outcome possible for our son. Without it, our son would have faced harsh and serious punitive decisions, and I am convinced that only due to Attorney Brown's involvement we reached a fair result, and were able to restore our lives to normality.
Marianne helped me contest a DCF negligence finding that was erroneous, political and based on a improper facts. She did her homework, worked with me to define a strategy, and constructed a rock solid case based on specific details and irrefutable logic. She was thoroughly prepared for the Fair Hearing and laid down a detailed argument that the other side could not factually dispute. She skillfully interviewed the witnesses and carefully poked holes in DCF’s initial finding. Her argument was so logical and on point, that the DCF case workers had to admit during the hearing that they cannot stand behind many of the facts presented in their finding.. Her preperation paid off and the finding was reversed. I strongly recommend Marianne to those in the education profession looking for someone who understands the complexities of our field.
Attorney Brown handled a challenging Section 504 case for us. Through her motions with the BSEA and negotiations with the school's attorney, she was able to achieve a settlement that is better than we could have hoped for. She was tenacious in researching and supporting our legal position and in drafting very strong documents which forced the school to concede. She took a genuine interest in our case and our child. Her passion in person and in front of the Hearing Officer surely contributed to our success. We are very grateful to have had Attorney Brown represent us and give her our strongest, highest recommendation for educational representation and litigation. If this were eBay, we'd say A+++++++++++++++.
Where do I start? I guess I can start by saying Attorney Brown is phenomenal! I am a Graduate student who was treated unfairly and ultimately dismissed from a University. I had never needed an attorney, nor did I have anyone to turn to for help. I had contacted numerous attorney (about 10) and told them my story, all to no avail. Every attorney I had spoken to, shrugged their shoulders and told me “sorry, but it is what it is, can’t help you.” I was very frustrated because I knew the University was discriminating against me, and no one seemed to care. Throughout my search of finding an educational lawyer (very hard to come across) I saw Attorney Brown’s picture with her bright smile. I turned to my mom and said let’s give it a try. I had reached out to Attorney Brown through email and told her my situation and that I needed a letter to be written to the University within the next week. In less than 24 hours, I received a response from Attorney Brown eager to help me. At this point she was overseas and that same day skyped with me to discuss my situation and to come up with a plan. Attorney Brown has been remarkable throughout this whole process. She has been a listener as well as a fighter. All I can say is, I would not be where I am today, back in school pursuing my dream if it was not for Attorney Brown. Attorney Brown’s first statement to me was “I am not a magician, but I will try my best.” Let me tell you, she’s definitely a magician and much more than that. This process took a lot longer than needed (due to the University), but Attorney Brown stood by me the whole time and never let me down. Attorney Brown was so thorough and never left a stone unturned. She was always 3 steps ahead of me and always on top of it. I have built such a strong relationship with Attorney Brown and never had a doubt in my mind about her. Attorney Brown is someone I turned to and continue to turn to about any legal advice. Attorney Brown is an attorney who is there for her clients and fights for their rights and what is right. Attorney Brown is someone I can trust and would 110% recommend. If you are looking for an attorney stop looking and contact Attorney Brown, you will not regret it. I cannot thank her enough for all her hard work and dedication through such a pain staking process.
