About
Excellent, knowledgeable, compassionate attorneys are not born--they are made, and their achievement is recognized by their peers. I received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Law Review of Wayne State's Law School and the Michiganian of the Year Award from the Detroit News. I have taught Family Law in the evening at Wayne State's Law School for 13 years now as an adjunct professor and have practiced law for 32 years in the areas of real estate, business law, family law, construction law, litigation, and appeals. I prevailed in the now famous Baby Jessica case where the U of M Law School's Child Advocacy Clinic was my opponent and have handled almost 30 appeals (including an important case under the ADA in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, where I prevailed). I obtained a jury verdict of over $1M in a First Amendment case and a significant jury verdict in a securities fraud case (both in federal court). I have authored approximately 15 scholarly articles that were published by the Wayne Law Review in the areas of property tax, real estate, trusts and estates, and family law. Many more of my articles were published by the Washtenaw County Bar Association (including a series on foreclosure law). I was a member of the Saline School Board for 12 years and served on the Saline Tax Board of Review as well as the Representative Assembly of the Bar Association. Our firm, Faupel Law, P.C., just celebrated its 25th anniversary, and before founding that firm, I worked for several very successful Detroit-area firms where I received excellent training from the best. Besides me, our firm consists of two associate attorneys, Sandy Musser and Dan Ferency (who both worked with area circuit court judges before joining our firm), and Tony Hart, who is an attorney experienced in sophisticated business transactions; tax appeals and tax planning; and estate planning from the simplest plan to the more exotic. In addition to having his law degree and having worked as a CPA, Tony also has a master of laws degree in Tax. If you are cruising the internet looking for an attorney, look no further than Faupel Law, P.C.

Marian and her firm are wonderful and compassionate attorneys with a lot of patience. During my divorce, they clearly communicated my options and provided direction, which allowed me to make thoughtful decisions. I truly feel blessed that Marian was my attorney. It cannot be easy practicing Family Law but this firms knows their stuff! I would highly recommend them.
Marian is more knowledgeable than most attorneys. I was going through a third party custody battle with an aunt and her husband in regards to my child and thanks to her knowing the standing laws we won the case. I interviewed other attorneys before I found Marian, and they knew nothing about third party. She knows her stuff, and she will fight for you.
Marian was very helpful in my Divorce, she guided me threw the process and was very considerate in those difficult personal times when you loose your direction. Marian helped me to gain custody of our Three Sons. Everything about Faupel Law was very professional. She is Kind, Caring and very knowledgeable. Truly a wonderful lady.
Marian is highly recommended and knows how to present a case and extremely detailed in her investigation with each case that we have had her represent. She is personable and communicative beyond what we have experienced in the past. She is well seasoned attorney and it shows!! She won each of our cases and I am thankful that we chose her. She is also highly respected in her field.
Marian Faupel has tireless energy, compassion for her clients, attention to detail and a vast knowledge of family law. She has an ability to recall the smallest detail from our meetings. Going through a very long, emotional divorce and custody case, Marian continues to keep us on track with a positive and professional attitude. Cannot give enough accolades to this wonderful attorney!
I have had Marian Faupel as my family law attorney for over 2 years now on a complicated case. Marian knows the family law area with past and up-to-date research and that includes court of appeals work. It is amazing to me that Marian constantly finds new resources and does not settle for old familar easy to go to solutions. She is a compassionate lawyer who demands honesty from her clients and provides you with honesty in return. Her wisdom of how the law works makes the expectations reasonable and she does not make promises she cannot keep. I think that is extremely important when wanting to find a lawyer who can be with you and defend your most vulnerable times, resources, and loved ones in your life. Her loyalty and hope on my worst days allows me to live my life along with tough litigation because if she can move mountains for you, she will. Marian's 30 years is star studded with Newsweek and recognition for research and teaching. I think it is often easy to forget that Marian is a top professional in the state because she is so down to earth, you would only know it by working with her. I hope you have the opportunity.
Marian Faupel exemplifies the highest qualities one could seek in an attorney. I never doubted for a moment her commitment to me and my case. I came to her in distress, and she caringly and competently guided me to an absolutely successful resolution. She proposed the resolution that she thought would work best for me, which included review of my case with the other side's attorney, and continuation to mediation, if needed. She urged avoidance of a long drawn-out law suit, because of the likely emotional and financial toll, and she was right. She was always available, always concerned, and always on task to move my case forward. In addition, based on her knowledge, experience and skills, I thought her fees were exceedingly modest in comparison with what I had been led my others to expect in a case such as mine. I have referred many clients to her, and continue to do so.
Marian Faupel is a tireless, dedicated, extremely zealous advocate. Her attention to every detail and recollection is uncanny. She remembered details from my case that I had actually forgot and managed to organize a very complicated situation into a winning argument. I had access to Marian essentially 24/7 and she gave me her cell number and actually invited me to her personal home and wrote most of my complaint on a Sunday! Although all legal is expensive I felt like I was getting at least 2-3 hours for every one hour billed I didn't feel like the ticker was running every time I called. Marian loves lawyering and sees her practice as a privilege to serve; she comcentrates on resolution and in my opinion puts people far before profit. Definitely someone you want in your corner.
