About
Maggie graduated from Washington State University with a degree in political science. She then attended Seattle University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2012. During law school, she was selected to join the Seattle University Law Review, the school’s oldest and most prestigious legal journal. After graduating law school, she served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Bruce I. Weiss in Snohomish County Superior Court. Judge Weiss, a former family law attorney himself, taught Maggie the practice from his chambers while she witnessed dozens of family law proceedings and trials in his courtroom. Her experience in Judge Weiss’s courtroom gave her valuable insight into how the court considers and interprets all types of legal matters.Maggie practiced family law for many years on the Westside of the state before relocating to the Yakima Valley. In addition to her family law experience, she has significant experience in negotiating and litigating personal injury matters. Her areas of practice include all areas of family law, such as divorce, committed intimate relationships, child custody, child support, parenting plan proceedings and modifications, domestic violence restraining orders, and guardianships (formerly third party custody proceedings). She also practices personal injury law.In support of her alma mater, she sits as a judge for the mock trial competitions at Seattle University School of Law. She regularly volunteers her time to provide legal advice on family law matters to low-income citizens. She sits on the Board of Directors for Yakima County Volunteer Attorney Services and serves as Treasurer.Maggie has been selected several times as a Super Lawyer “Rising Star,” an honor given to only 2.5% of attorneys in the state. Locally, she has been recognized in the Yakima Herald’s “Women in Business” and “39 under 39.”Maggie is married to Brett Goodman, who is also a local attorney. Their son and dog take up most of her free time, but she also enjoys working out, kayaking, traveling, gardening, cooking, and entertaining family and friends.

I have a paralegal degree and needed an attorney who understood the complications of being a grandparent and who sided with the ex-son-in-law against my daughter. Maggie handled the case with extreme professionalism and achieved the desired outcome of a very difficult time and situation. Ex-son-in-law was able to solidify his situation and prevent his daughter and our granddaughter from further mental abuse caused by my daughter and her recent boyfriend. Been around attorney's for a good share of my life and have to say Maggie was within the top one or two that was fully competent, understood the facts and dilemma that we faced and was able to achieve our desired goals. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone and I am saddened to see her move to the other side of the mountains (to be closer to family!). Good luck in the future and never hesitate to call or get in touch with me if you ever need anything, Allen
Maggie helped me fight to protect my daughter. She was honest, professional, knowledgeable and sincere. She helped me through a time in my life deal with something extremely tough. I was never blindsided by anything as Maggie was on top of everything. She the best and I’d recommend her to anyone!!!
I went to seek help to gain custody of my daughter. Being let down so many times in the past, I wasn’t very confident going in, but after meeting Maggie I felt as though I actually had a chance of winning. Not only was she easy to talk to, but she was extremely professional. She guided me along the way explaining all aspects of the legal jargon I didn’t understand. She is not only a great lawyer, but is a wonderful person to work with. Thank you for all your help! Highly recommended.
I had a divorce case with an abusive Narcissistic husband that Maggy went the extra mile to give me extra resources to deal with him. She took the extra time to explain things when I was in a heightened emotional state. Its clear that Maggy takes her cases very personal and does what it takes to give great customer service. Thank you.
I was referred to Ms. Lund by another excellent attorney who was not able to assist me just due to the nature of my case. I am very grateful that things happened as they did. I wanted strong representation after being served with a Domestic Violence Restraining Order that was simply ridiculous and which could severely affect my 17-year military career. Maggie was immediately responsive, passionate, open, and honest. She explained things to me in detail so that I would understand why certain things were or were not happening, and kept me informed throughout the process. Maggie worked with me to get the facts in front of the court in the most efficient manner. She let me know exactly what I needed to do, and then she responded with the product (declarations, forms, etc.) immediately. When I had a question, she responded to my emails and calls right away. When Maggie stood next to me at my final hearing in court, she laid the facts out so clearly. She painted the true picture of what was happening behind the scenes vs. the Petitioner's false statements. I could not ask for a better attorney to help me through this very difficult time. Ultimately, the DVPO was denied and I can move on to my next duty assignment with this behind me. I credit this to Maggie and her staff directly. I would recommend Ms. Lund to anyone with even the most complicated Family Law or Civil matter. She has a knack for taking a jumble of information and tailoring it to represent what you are trying to say, but do not have the expertise to do effectively. While this was a very difficult and stressful time for my family and me, I did rest in the knowledge that Maggie was on our side. Thank you, Maggie, for everything.
I recently went through a divorce. My case was pretty simple but everything was explained in detail to not only me but my now ex husband. No detail was missed including a new law about the possibility of him being able to come back years later asking for his portion. Not only did they make it simple for me but due to my situation they helped me out with the final costs. Highly preferred!!!!
Maggie has been involved with my child custody case in the last 6 months and she really was a big help. Positive attitude and very professional. Both my fiancé and myself felt that she was very smart and understand the court process. We also loved her passion in supporting her clients and she was very clear on what outcome you should be expecting. I would hire her if you want a good lawyer on your side.
I was referred to Margaret by a friend and was immediately glad they did. I was the process of getting a divorce and was trying to do everything myself (to save a little money). I was on a tight schedule because I was getting transferred out of state and would have to start all of the divorce precedings over if it wasn't complete before I left. I "thought" I just wanted her to make sure the papers were correct, so I wouldn't have any time wasted in trying to get a new court date, if it wasn't right the first time. However, after sitting down and listening to the situation, she not only made sure the papers were correct, but re-wrote the ones that I had already did and in the process saved me a ton of time, money, and heartache with my divorce. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is in need of a divorce lawyer. She handled everything with the perfect blend of professional and personal attention that made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process.
When I walked into Maggie's office I had no idea how to untangle the beginnings of my broken marriage. She is patient and informative. She gave me options to help me problem solve. Her insight and knowledge allowed me to feel confident in moving forward with what could've been a very hard situation. I have recommended her to several people since. Tacoma is lucky to have her!
I hired this lawyer for a limited appearance for a divorce settlement hearing. When I first spoke to the lawyer I felt that she would have my best interest at hand. But later I felt like she wanted to do the bare minimum and have me sign a settlement that I felt was not very fair. I kept trying to explain my situation and trying to to get a fair deal for my needs but the lawyer would talk down to me as if I were an imbecile. I am not a lawyer and I do not know law and for that reason alone I hired someone so they could protect me. I did not feel like she was trying to protect me or get me the best deal possible. I felt she just wanted to get over and done with it and not find me a good settlement. In the end I got a lousy deal and matter wasn't resolved or closed when she left me. Now I am back in the same situation in which I had originally started with, having to deal with the lawyer my husband hired directly. And of course she's been doing a very good job with her client. As a military spouse and wife of nearly twenty years I have nothing to show for it and will be in a position where I won't be able to support myself with an entry level job. I wasn't in a financial position as my husband was to be able to afford a lawyer to represent me and in the end I felt like it was important for me to get one because my case could default. In the end I spent a lot of money in which I couldn't really afford and basically getting just as much if I had defaulted. There were a lot of things this lawyer did not know and said she would have to research via internet and that it would go into the funds I gave her. So she did not have a lot of knowledge. It also took her a while to respond to my emails. She told me she was sick but she never had anyone in the office notify me. If you have the money I would recommend you hire someone with more experience and knowledge so you can get the best deal possible. If I had the money I would have hired someone with knowledge with military/family law and divorces.
