In the situation described David also forced the former client to settle for less than he/she deserved because David did not place enough effort in working-up the client's case. In my situation, David tried to mislead me into believing I agreed to a settlement when email correspondance showed otherwise. It was an unethical move in which the court helped to rectify the decision without having to file malpractice. My advice is if you have a case that may be arduous in working up, please move away from using David Karnas. There appears to be a pattern with Karnas that you will have to settle for significantly less money simply because his firm may not be interested in doing the basic workup on your case.
