About

For the last ten years, I have concentrated my practice exclusively in the area of family law. This area, of course, encompasses a wide variety of legal issues, including custody, child support, maintenance, property distribution, etc. In addition, I am certified to represent children as a Guardian ad Litem, Child's Representative, Attorney for Child in difficult family law cases. Finally, as more non-traditional methods of dispute resolution become popular, I have become a licensed and certified mediator and licensed by the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.

I recently had to switch from being represented by a different attorney to pro se. During my last hearing, the Judge gave me a list of my next steps & I was trying to write everything down as fast as possible. It was apparent I felt very overwhelmed at that moment as I walked away from the bench not sure where to turn first. As I sifted through the court forms searching for the one I needed - Lynn approached me & said "here, let me help you". Not once during these 14 months of divorce agony had I ever cried in court. The waterworks just started flowing. I was blown away that this complete stranger, simply out of the kindness of her heart, saw how overwhelmed I felt & took it upon herself to approach me, help me complete the form, walked me over to the other courtroom the Judge instructed me to do, & stood by my side as I spoke with the new Judge getting further instructions. She recapped with me my next steps. ALL WITHOUT KNOWING ONE ANOTHER. I hugged her before I even asked her name. I left the courthouse that day feeling an overwhelming sense of hope - in the world. Such selfless kindness as Lynn displayed that day is truly a RARE find. I wish I would have known about her before this. If you're searching for a truly compassionate attorney, I would absolutely recommend consulting with Lynn.

I highly recommend Lynn Mirabella and the law firm of Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella. I have recently been blessed to work with Lynn Mirabella and her associate Joshua Bedwell on a complex and extensive family law case. Both Lynn and Joshua have illustrated a level of professionalism and integrity that I find extraordinary in business. They have an innate ability to exercise compassion, pay attention to detail, provide sound advice, and move you in the right direction through intellectual and strategic decision making. I am extremely grateful that I landed in their hands when it came down to matters of the heart.

I would absolutely recommend Lynn to anyone. She helped and was instrumental in getting me back together with my kids. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, thorough, and personable. When she was brought into the case, I was not that excited to have another GAL appointed but Lynn was excellent and turned an extremely hesitant and negative mindset into a very positive one for me. Thank you Lynn from the bottom of my heart in helping a loving father reunite with his angels.

Lynn was referred to me by a few unrelated sources, and by one of her firms partners that I had briefly met thru mutual friends. I met Lynn after realizing the first lawyer I retained was not up for the task or challenges my ex-husband presented. From the very first meeting with Lynn, she was more than professional, compassionate, and reassuring to my situation. I felt she and I made a genuine connection from the first meeting and thru what proceeded to be the most challenging and emotional year of my entire life. No one has any idea what to expect going thru a divorce for the first time, and she consistently made herself available and communicated during regular and non-business hours and even while she was on vacation. If she was not available to assist, she made sure one, if not two of her partners were able to help in her absence. When my case evolved and unfortunately went to trial, she essentially engaged one of the two founding partners to manage the process thru trial, and continued to be there every step of the way. I consider myself a strong career and goal oriented woman, and have high expectations of others professionally. As anyone could imagine, there were several moments of overwhelming feelings of hopelessness….if it weren’t for Lynn’s strength, expertise, and sense of humor – I would have self-destructed thru the process. She is an extremely talented and intelligent lawyer, with a refreshing personality and quick wit that will make you laugh out loud instead of scream. I have huge respect for her and how she manages her business.

I worked with Lynn for over two years on my divorce (my fault it took so long). She was great to work with. Lynn is smart and creative. I would highly recommend her. Divorce is a really tough and emotional situation and Lynn helped me through it. Together, we were able to put together a win win settlement for both me and my wife. I would be happy to speak with any prospective client of Lynn's but I would ask that you request my phone number from her.

Lynn Mirabella represented me in my divorce proceedings from 2009-2011. She was very diligent and thorough as well supportive and respectful. She worked very hard to work in my family's best interest. I've recently contacted Lynn again to address some settlement issues that were not met and she was quick to respond. I'm very grateful I hired her to represent me.

I have found Ms. Mirabella to show a great understanding of the law and the people who work within the legal system. Ms. Mirabella's ability to understand the motivations and needs of the people around her not only help her clients but also assist in maintaining the fluidity of the legal process.

Lynn was the point person who sold me on the notion of using her and her firm for a large portion of my divorce. Admittedly, I bought fully into everything I heard in that initial conversation. After many, many months of what can only be described as one step forward, two steps back, I realized the sophomoric mistakes I had made. Once I found a different, suitable attorney and we built a relationship, I was asked: "What in the world did they actually do for you for $XX,XXX?" Not only was my case with her immediately handed off to an underling with near-zero experience, Lynn never once checked in with me to see if she could help get things moving again. I am not one to make these types of errors often and this was very costly, both financially and to the well-being of my children. She and her firm (father) seem to have built a tremendous name for themselves yet I have lived through a seemingly never ending experience that is a testament to the contrary. Continuance after continuance, deposition after deposition and sizable bills became the norm. There was even a time where I was being deposed and asked questions completely unrelated to anything at hand and the underling, my counsel, looked at me blankly and said nothing. In fact, my questions were rarely answered with anything concrete and reliable. In hindsight, a great many motions could have been handled differently which would have saved money, time and heartache. I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Great harm was done.
