I’m Laurel, and I have been helping families navigate the estate planning process for nearly a decade.I began my law career as a litigator before turning to estate planning, when I realized that I wanted to use the law as a collaborative tool to help others care for their loved ones and plan for the future, not as a tool to resolve disputes.  I spent the better part of a decade doing just that at Furey, Doolan & Abell, a law firm in Chevy Chase, Maryland, where I learned from some of the best estate planners in the D.C. area. At Furey, Doolan & Abell I had the opportunity to work with for clients from all walks of life with all different kinds of planning needs and requirements.I started Lea Wills, my own estate-planning firm based in Prince George’s County, in order to provide families with flexible, cost-effective estate planning services rooted in the community where I live. My goal is to be the planner who makes the task of death and disability planning as easy as a difficult and stressful process can be.  I work with clients in both Maryland and D.C. and am active in both jurisdictions, including recently completing a two-year stint as co-chair of the steering committee of the Estates, Trusts, and Probate Law Section of the D.C. Bar.
