I had a complicated immigration issue. I came to the US in the late 80's as a tourist and never left. I was petitioned by my father who was a US citizen, unfortunately he passed away before my case was resolved. No matter how hard I tried and despite my college degree and professional background, I did not get very far in my job hunt using a ridiculously obvious fake green card . In my desperation, after many years of doing odd jobs, I misrepresented myself just so I can get a temporary work permit (a decision that I soon deeply regretted!) For while the work permit enabled to land a decent job, It became the primary reason why 2 prominent immigration lawyers in Los Angeles refused to take my case. The "misrepresentation" extended into many aspects of my life: I claimed US citizenship in filing my taxes, buying a home, attending classes, etc. I stayed at my job for many years - until E-verify forced me to resign. All of a sudden, I had nowhere to go. So despite my prior uneventful consultations with immigration lawyers, I decided to try it one last time. Atty. Marquez was assigned to handle my case. She acknowledged that my case was unusually complex. But unlike other lawyers who did not show any interest in finding a solution, she took my case and attacked the problem at every possible angle. The preparation of the documents was very challenging and took me several months to complete. In the end she was able to come out with a very compelling presentation that was honest and thorough, and addresses all the possible scenarios that could prevent me from getting a Permanent resident visa. I liked her because she was very professional, she never gave me any false assurances, she never gave up on me even when I was feeling discouraged and she was always there when I needed her. I got my GREEN CARD yesterday (August 22, 2014)!
Attorney Lourna Marquez-Carrasquillo assisted me with my application for citizenship through naturalization. She is very knowledgeable and has a broad experience in immigration law. Four months after my first consultation with her, I got the letter for my oath ceremony. I highly recommend her!
Lourna M. Marquez Carrasquillo Stands out above of the rest. She was always available to us and never left out any information that INS required from us. All the documents were current and everything was always processed on time. Thank you Lourna for everything you have done for us getting Edith here legally and stress free. I will constantly pass on your name to others that would need your services. I have heard horror stories from others and their attornies and had spent so much money and still not approved for entry in the USA. Thank you so much again for everything you have done for us and we wish you best of luck in 2012. Dave and Edith Landry
Before hiring Lourna's services my family and I looked for immigration lawyers but many weren't willing to help us or they would charge way over our possibilities. After meeting her, my family was very pleased with her personality and her accessible prices. Although the economic part was acessible, what we want to emphasize is that she is really professional and knowledgable in her field. During the process she keept us aware of what was happening and I'm glad to say the outcome was positive. We'll never have the words to express how glad we are to have hired her services and we recommend her services to anyone that is looking for a great lawyer.
Lourna was very knowledgeable about the K-3 VISA information and steps. She helped us build a strong portfolio of our relationship and any information that would be required and the process was worth every penny. We even were on different countries (PR, San Diego & Tijuana) but we never had an issue with communication. She always kept us informed and everything she said was exactly what happened. We are together and happy thanks to Lourna. Would definitely recommend her to anyone that needs help with Immigration Visas.
Lourna Marquez of Marquez, Roberts & Associates represented my 129-F petition for my fiancee to immigrate to the U.S. Her expertise in this area of immigration law and guidance throughout the preparation of the petition led to a quick acceptance of my application with USCIS. Thank you!

Thank you!
