Lou has been a private panel trustee with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York for over 30 years. He is often engaged as attorney for the debtor, attorney for the Trustee and attorney for Creditors. Lou has actively participated in the Monroe County Bar Association as founding Chairman of the Bankruptcy Court Committee and as a Trustee for the Bar Association. He was a Charter Member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Lou is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute, and has been a member of the Commercial Law League of America. Lou frequently lectures at law seminars, business conferences and as a guest lecturer at local colleges. Lou has been actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Visiting Nurse Foundation for 14 years (Meals on Wheels), as well as Treasurer for five years; Director, Vice President and Treasurer of the Jewish Community Center (JCC); Board of Directors of the Temple Beth El Congregation and Chairman of its cemetery committee for over 40 years. Lou is an avid photographer with his worldwide work on display at several galleries and various exhibits, as well as a national publication. He is the creator of a photo essay, “Stark Contrasts, Prague and Teregin,” which is actively on a moving exhibition to galleries and religious and educational institutions nationally.
