I retained Louis Leibowitz in May 2015 after I was subpoenaed to give a deposition as a witness in a lawsuit. I needed an independent attorney to explain the proceedings to me, discuss any liability I may have, and represent my interests. Within a couple of hours of my first meeting with Mr. Leibowitz, he had already contacted the attorneys for both the plaintiff and defendant in the lawsuit. Mr. Leibowitz then succeeded in having my deposition cancelled, which was tremendous relief to me. Mr. Leibowitz was also able to keep me informed of case updates (information I was unable to obtain any other way), and at my request, he attended a mediation session between the plaintiff and defendant. The lawsuit was settled before it went to trial, but for several months I believed that I would have to testify in court – a truly terrifying prospect for me. However, Mr. Leibowitz planned on preparing me for my testimony, and I am sure that if we had reached that point, my preparation would have been superb. Mr. Leibowitz was able to calm me and provide exceptional guidance to me at a time when I most likely would have made some poor, panic based choices. In addition, there were two months prior to the scheduled trial date that I did not need to contact Mr. Leibowitz at all. I assumed I would continue to accrue small legal fees during those months, but I did not, and that was a pleasant surprise. I have complete confidence in Mr. Leibowitz’s abilities.
