About
Len C. Mueller has been actively engaged in the practice of law for approximately thirty years following her 1985 graduation from Campbell University School of Law. Due to her interest in people and her desire to help others, Ms. Mueller limited her practice to family law. During the last quarter century, she has represented literally hundreds of men and women to resolve their legal issues related to family law such as separation, child custody, child support, post-separation support and alimony, and equitable distribution. Ms. Mueller is a board certified specialist in the area of family law, having received this certification from the North Carolina State Bar in 1994. She has maintained her specialist certification since that time. By retaining a Family Law Specialist, Mueller Law clients are assured their legal matters are being handled by an expert.Ms. Mueller is a certified Divorce and Family Financial Mediator. She obtained this certification in 2006. She is a member of the North Carolina Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the North Carolina Association of Professional Family Mediators. By retaining a certified mediator, Mueller Law clients are assured their cases will be resolved without costly litigation if at all possible. Ms. Mueller is committed to settlement of her cases, and she is passionate about her work as both a mediator and as an attorney representing litigants during mediation. Valuable communication skills and techniques learned during her mediation certification make Ms. Mueller an exceptional negotiator and her years of experience give her the insight to evaluate cases for settlement.North Carolina Business magazine recognized Ms. Mueller as a Legal Elite in 2007 and again in 2009 for her determination, commitment and vision.Ms. Mueller was asked to serve as an Adjunct Professor at Campbell University School of Law teaching Family Law Planning and she enjoyed teaching at the law school for seven years. Many of Ms. Mueller’s former students are now licensed attorneys practicing in North Carolina. Ms. Mueller is a member of the North Carolina and Wake County Bar Associations, the Family Section of The N.C. Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. She served on the Family Law Council of North Carolina Bar Association.Ms. Mueller credits her former law partners, Richard T. ("Rick") Gammon and Russell W. DeMent, for her success as a litigator. Mr. Gammon and Mr. DeMent are two of the best trial lawyers in North Carolina, if not the entire United States. Ms. Mueller is equally appreciative of Anne B. Salisbury, former Wake County District Court Judge, who first gave her the opportunity in 1987 to join DeMent Askew as a “baby lawyer” and who thereafter instructed her, albeit informally, in family law. Ms. Mueller understands the struggle to balance a professional life with a personal life. She is happily married and looks forward to celebrating her 30th wedding anniversary with her husband next year. She is blessed with three sons, one fiancee, two dogs and one cat. When she is not working, Ms. Mueller enjoys travelling with her family and with her friends. She also devotes time to various nonprofits, including Tri It for Life - Raleigh Chapter serving as Vice President and mentor working with athletes training for their first Ramblin' Rose Triathlon.

I am a private investigator that has worked with Len through the years on several cases. She is a driving force on behalf of her clients. She is always available whenever I have a question regarding a case or need to clarify an issue. She has pushed both myself and my staff to the limits in terms of making sure our final work product is the best it can be for her clients. She is always fully prepared for court and I am always proud to be seated behind her. Len is a driving force and I highly respect her candor, work ethic and most of all dedication to her clients.
Len and her firm are wonderful. I can not be happier with them. Everyone works so well together, it amazes me. My questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. Even after the divorce was final, she was there answering my questions. The process isn't a pleasant one, but having Len with me helped so much. There has never been a time when I reached out and she wasn't there. She went above and beyond.
Ms. Mueller took her time to work with me to first learn what I needed and wanted and then to help me to obtain these things. She was always very thorough and hardworking, taking the extra step to make sure my concerns were both adequately heard and then addressed. She explained the legal process involved with divorce in NC and broke it down so I could see my different options. She was both professional and personable at all times, making her a pleasure to work with, especially considering my reason for needing to retain her services. I was very pleased with Ms. Mueller and her entire firm and would highly recommend her service to others.
Len is smart, focused, and passionate about her clients. I interviewed and worked with two attorneys before Len, include a high profile family lawyer from one of the largest local firms. I was losing ground with their advice. Len turned the tide in my favor in very short order. She rearranged her entire week to take my case. Len understands technology, how to leverage computer forensics, and how to use the legal system to acquire information off devices. To see her in court or a deposition is a thing of beauty, if only she is on your side of the table. Easily one of the worst days of my EXs life. She will push you and her team to greater heights to get you results. During a very difficult time, she will make you laugh. More than a business associate, I consider Len a friend that will always be there. She will only work cases she believes in fighting, so hope yours is one.
Len consistently told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear. I could haven't asked for a more hard-working, knowledgeable, caring legal partner in my divorce. Her staff is on-point, professional, and courteous. I felt like part of the family every time I walked into her office. Her invoices are crystal-clear, and accurate to the minute. She is up-front in that she looks for ways to have less expensive tasks done by less expensive staff members, and she was true to her word. I opted to have Len represent me at my uncontested divorce court date, and I got multiple updates as the court session went on, and a phone call personally congratulating me when the gavel dropped. Len helped me untangle the Gordian knot that my divorce was for me, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I would highly recommend Len to anyone needing family legal counsel.
I hired Len Mueller to assist with divorce matters and a separation agreement. Everything seemed ok at first, and she asked for relevant financial documents and started working on an agreement for distribution. I then started to notice that little progress was being made on my case, and it seemed that I couldn’t get Len’s attention unless I made an appointment to come into her office for a conference. During these conferences, she would bill me close to, or in excess of, a thousand dollars each time, and we would often rehash the same issues. I then had trouble getting her or her staff to even respond to emails, and I had no choice but to send her a message conveying my dissatisfaction with her representation, and asking her to cease work. She basically told me to come pick up my file and wished me good luck. I asked for an electronic copy of my separation agreement, as a courtesy, so I could at least complete on my own. She would not respond to the request. In sum, I paid her nearly $4500 and walked away at close to square-one. In the end, I felt that she became argumentative and unprofessional to me. A previous reviewer stated that “she will only work cases she believes in fighting” so maybe mine wasn’t one of them.
