About

Attorney Leah Amrhein has always been attracted to work aimed at trying to make life better for others—particularly those in difficult circumstances. She relished the extraordinary opportunities she had to do that in government service, and she brings the same motivation and drive to the Bellotti Law Group now. Before joining the Bellotti Law Group, she was a trial attorney handling personal injury, criminal defense, immigration, family law, real estate, landlord/tenant, consumer, and estate planning matters. Her approach to handling and resolving cases―using a balance of patience, compassion, aggression, and collaboration―delivers exceptional results. Attorney Amrhein has successfully negotiated hundreds of settlements and has won numerous jury trial verdicts throughout the state, including some very public catastrophic injuries and criminal cases.A former athlete, Attorney Amrhein, is a natural competitor. She has dedicated her career to standing up to individuals and corporations that abuse power at the expense of others. Before joining Bellotti Law Group, she litigated and tried complex civil and criminal matters at a major Boston law firm and as an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County.Atty. Amrhein also brings expertise in Mental Health Litigation from servings as Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Mental Health, where she argued and appeared on behalf of the agency in civil commitment hearings to petition to keep persons who presented a danger committed to locked facilities to protect the public. While some lawyers are combative, Attorney Amrhein uses a different approach. She works with opposing lawyers and insurance companies to help them appreciate the significance of her clients’ injuries and the impact on their lives, paving the way to a fair settlement. If that doesn’t work, Attorney Amrhein and her team are ready and able to push cases to trial.“Being in the courtroom and in front of a jury is my favorite part of the job. In every case, everything I do is in preparation for that moment,” Atty. Amrhein says. “I truly enjoy getting to know my clients, gaining their trust, and standing with them to make sure they are listened to and treated fairly. It is gratifying to be in their corner because oftentimes, we are the only ones there.”Atty. Amrhein earned her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts, where she was the recipient of the Best Brief Award and the Best Oral Advocate Award. She was invited to join and is actively a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Society, and served on the Transnational Law Review. In her third year of law school, Atty. Amrhein petitioned and became authorized by the Supreme Judicial Court pursuant to Rule 3:03 to serve as a student prosecutor for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, where she gained significant courtroom experience handling a variety of criminal trials.

I was connected with Leah after my first attorney showed no effort or interest at all (couldn’t even remember my name or basic information about the case) and therefore my criminal case was pushed to the next step. Leah stepped in and we had several phone calls going over the details of the case and any necessary background information. With this being my first criminal case I was very anxious and she walked me through the entire process and answered any concerns or questions I had. She was always available for email correspondence, phone calls and text messaging. Leah made a very scary and uncomfortable situation manageable and I walked away from the situation in a much better place.
