About

I am famous not only for my sound tax and business advice to clients but also for my chocolate chip buttermilk waffles (with or without nuts). I have been with the firm longer than any currently practicing attorney. I head the firm's corporate, tax and business practice division. The focus of my practice can best be described by the titles of two of the books I have authored: Taking Cash Out of the Closely-Held Corporation and How to Buy or Sell the Closely-Held Corporation. I have served as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin — Oshkosh Graduate Business School and have been a lecturer at the Fox Valley Technical College. I am frequently called upon to lecture at various legal and business organizations on various topics, including succession planning for family business, tax and other business and estate planning issues. My undergraduate degree is in mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1964. I earned my J.D. at Northwestern University School of Law in 1967 and Wisconsin in 1973. I am also a certified public accountant and a member of the Wisconsin Society of CPAs. If you cannot find me in the office, you can probably find me playing tennis or biking. I am also a "dedicated" fisherman. In my not-so-active moments, I likes to play bridge or read a good book. If you hear someone referred to as "faithful Native American guide," you know I am not far away.
